[2019] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?

Recommended Posts

Solved a couple of nagging issues with a new ignition switch and re-torqued the not so tight exhaust manifold. Starts fine and no more backfire between shifts.

Finally getting rid of the stock exhaust manifold.

This header is going to mate to the existing 2-1/2" exhaust pipes.

Going very well so far.

I had that header on mine, it’s an absolute peach and will make your engine sing beautifully!!! It’s a very well balanced size and length of primaries.

Ps. Keep the stock manifold - with prices shooting up for originality someone will pay good money for that one day! )

Intake is now on. Those bottom nuts were a sob to get a socket or wrench on to tighten.

Did you notice the billet steering rack clamps?

My Sept 70 parts car arrived today. Sadly it only had two front wheels on as rear suspension pulled apart when putting on flatbed. Grrrr.

Anyway all is well. Back end is gone but a lot of interesting parts:

BRE Spook

Rear hatch with vents

Dash with radio and 140psi gauge

Excellent Centre console

Grill

Badges

I need to figure out how to get the hood off to see head and front end (which I need)

It also came with ZFinding floor pans and BadDog Rails in boxes 🙂

Got the parking brakes adjusted. The Silvermine cable is a little longer than stock so I had to adjust the linkage a bit.
Connected the rear brake lines and bolted the calipers down.
Adjusted the rear camber settings on the top of the CX Racing coil overs to let the big meaty 225/60R16 tire’s get under the wells.
Still needs a little adjusting but the Techno Toy Tuning rear lower control arms are phenomenal for adjustments!
Next up is the front brake lines and some small adjustments there before I drop the car on the ground. I’ll probably fill the diff while it’s still in the air too.

Header install is now complete. Hard to see them now. Sounds great though.

Cannot test drive yet because I also have developed a front suspension problem. Just the opposite of the other thread oddly enough. New parts as well.

I will post up to get your alls opinion.

Look at the oil cap upside down.  Reminds me of the old story about the guy who brings his car in for an oil change and insists that the mechanic use 710 weight oil, the mechanic says there is no such thing and the guy says of course there is 710 oil, look at the cap!

Helped my buddy's 73 resto.  Disassembled, cleaned, and re-greased steering column. Installed column and wheel with new poly coupler. Adjusted rack tension.

Tried to fit aftermarket sway bar but the U clamps were too wide for the frame rail 8mm mounting locations?
