Thanks to 7tooZ I found my line was almost 1/4" out. I actually mounted the door panel and pulled the line along the door crease as well. Using his measurements I was able to confirm the proper line along the door and quarter panel.

Thanks Chas! This is the first time I have attempted any real bodywork. I am enjoying the learning experience and looking forward to the sanding and blocking phase. This rough work is more structural than aesthetic. I am hoping to have something close to 95% of the correct shape before I start the finish work.

On a car as small a Z, the work is not that bad all things considered.  A few years ago, I was at this stage with my '52 Chevy 3100.  Now, that was a chore.  I also question the use of fiberglass reinforced filler.  Not necessary with modern fillers and I am sure you are not laying it on thick.  Good luck on your task and progress as I am sure it will be stunning in the end given your attention to detail.
