...As for the stock radio...

Dumbest question ever, how do I get it on the AM band? ROFL

The preset buttons are mostly labeled "AM", but only seem to push the dial around rather than switch bands... The owner's manual is no help, but I have figured out now how to adjust the bass/treble and sensitivity :)

(I really want to listen to the cheesy Frank Sinatra station, Mexican oompa music, and dull religious talk shows as you can tell)

What year car do you have? On a 1972 if you push and AM preset button it switches to the AM tuner and then you can manually tune to a station using the tuning button (on the right hand side I believe). The 1973 may be the same, but I'm not sure. The 1970 and 71 only have AM and have an autoseek function.

Thanks... 280Z, 1975... I'll try again, but pushing the AM preset button didn't seem to change the band. I suppose FM must not have been out in full force if they give me more AM buttons than anything.

As I recall the FM band started in the early 70's. My car is a 76 and has 3 am and 2 fm buttons. To change from am to fm just push the am or fm and dial to the station.

I have a question, does any one have a picture of the back of the radio where the antana connects. Mine was cut for another radio that I put in the glove compartment and I would like to reattach it so both radios worked.

    thanks

As I recall, the blue wire goes to the antenna switch, the black is a ground, and the white and white/black are for the speaker.
