Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Mr.Tasaka did a great job for me, the project for the earliest bonnet has just completed yesterday.

I have an original earliest silver bonnet, but it has got a quite big dent in the middle.

So my Z432 has a later bonnet for instead,we discussed about which would be a better( the original bonnet can be fixed or the later bonnet

can be modified) for my Z432.

We decided to modify the later bonnet because it is easier and cheaper to achive the best result than fixing the original bonnet.

I am happy with this modified bonnet, 2 big upper holes and 2 small side holes are hidden by metal,

and 2 upper corner reinforcements are took off.

Hello surfer.tech,

You can buy it from Motorsport Auto, the front fender emblem can be put on the rear spoiler.

Just for your reference, rear deck embelm "Fairlady-Z" is defferent from the one on the fenders

,the rear deck emblem is slightly bent to match the curved surface of the rear deck panel.

I do not think Motorsport Auto is selling rear deck Fairlady-Z embelm,so you will not be in trouble.

However if someone wants to put the front fender emblem to the rear deck,he/she needs to bend it nicely.

Anyway both are exact same looks when you see from the top.

kats

Hey Kats,

Do you know where they still sell the "Fairlady Z" emblem for the rear spoiler?

I visited Nissan Main office in Yokohama,

There is a big show room displaying all new models from GTR to Micra.

Nice Starbucks coffee , you can spend hours looking

at these cars.

Also heritage area, it is worth to look at , a few old cars ,1/1 pictures and

histories of Datsun/Nissan.

It is like a small museum .

Always several Miss Fairladies are attending , they love cars too!

You can enjoy talking with them.

Thank you Fred,

I really want to see old pictures.I hardly ever seen personal

taken pictures when Fairlady Z made debut .

My father did not have any pictures of Z, not even any Z was happened to

be caught in my father's camera shooting our family small sedan.

I knew it was difficult to see the wonderful car

around my local country side, but I was car boy dreaming

about Z.

Books, and Tamiya models taught me a lot about Z.

Chris!

Those ladies are the legend, established long time ago when Fair lady name

sports car launched.

Still Nissan hires 20 or so Beautiful ladies every year.

There must be fortunate guys got married with miss Fairlady

and own Fairlady-Z same time!

Attached red car is Nissan Laurel , my favorite .

I up loaded 11 videos on you tube, please enjoy.

Like these,

Hi,

Yesterday I was at the party, " Mr. and Mrs. K 203 years "

Mr.K is 103 years old, and Mrs.K is 100 years old!!

They are both very well, I was simply amazed Mr.K made a speech

25 minutes just like used to , nothing has changed from when I met Mr.K

first time in 2000.

Mr.K slipped and fell down in his house last year ,he had his head sewed

up the cut 8 stitches , but that's all, nothing bad after that,Mr.K recovered

so fast and so well.

Damon from Texas also made a speech and passed a heart warming message

from Mike Taylor.

Tetsu was a interpreter for him.

You can see another very important person for Nissan, Mr. and Mrs. Usami

behind.

Mr. and Mrs.K they drink water very much everyday ,

they said that is why they are still very well.

I am so glad that I was there, more and more I love my Zs forever.

Mr. K and his wife are certainly amazing people. Wonderful to hear that they are healthy and doing well. That looks like Masataka Usami and his wife in the background.

Thanks for the update..

Thank you Fred and Chris,I am happy you like it .

Chris ,I sent a PM to you.

PS:

I have just arrived LAX from Tokyo this morning,

flight time was 9:30, burn off fuel 167000lb, approximately

65000 USD for it.

ANA is the kick off customer of B787, but some of you know all the 787 can not fly

right now due to electrical problem.

if it flies, burn off fuel

will be 20% less than my B777...We do not know when 787 will be

back on normal and fly again. The lost is getting bigger and bigger every day...

I want to have fun with my Zs more , so I hope my airline will be

OK soon and do not cut payment for me!

Kats,

Here are the wing nuts on #32. They are the same early style as on your Z432.

-Mike

Hi Mike,

Today I looked up wingnuts of both cars, I found that they are different in its bolt size.

I thought your 1969 240Z has same wingnut just like Z432 as-E4201, but it does not, yours is special wingnut for SU carb system.

Is your wingnut bolt thicker than the Z432 type is not it?

Attached picture is, the left is for the black air box just behind of the front bumper, the middle is for the orange air box in the engine room, the right is for the SU carb airbox. They are not interchangeble each other.

Kats, have you seen this video Japan's retro car kings on youtube?

post-24552-14150823412586_thumb.jpg

At 6:15 the owner of TA auto shows a picture of a unrestored fairlady with the 432 emblem.

From the bad picture its difficult to see if its a true 432. I know you have been tracking

vin numbers of the remaining 432's in Japan and might be interested in seeing this car in

person.

Carl,

8-track tapes are quite available, new and used. I have a brand new Datsun option 8-track player for the head unit in a 510. Interested? I'll even throw in "Alice's Restaurant". Frankly, it's more difficult to find an original player like Kats' that still works. Mine works.

(Edit) BTW the part # for the player I have is 99993-00206-80 "8 track deck" universal chassis. Brand new in the Datsun box.

So I just snagged one of these new in box. where/how were they installed?

Not sure If Im installing but like this option and definite conversation starter.
