Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432

Thank you tbone82:love: I love blue , looks great in 240Z.But for Z432, blue is not listed in the catalog. I do not think my 240Z's blue suit for my Z432...

I drove my Z432 from Sendai city to Nara city approx. 600miles in one day.I drooped at a Z factory in Kanazawa city on my way, Mr.Moroe who restored this Z was waiting for me and Z432 to see and perform periodical maintenance.

When my Z432 is inspected,I decided to replace original fuel tank , because it is not good for use, it is rusty inside,fuel pomp's filter gathered many rust.

Mr.Moroe switched old one to NOS tank ,but the new one is for 1975 Z. I t is bigger than 1970 original,but I did not have any choice at that time.

I hope the original tank is restored soon and gets back to my Z432 in place.

Two pictures,the first one is an orange Z432 pictured in 1969 motor show(press day?) I love this picture , it is a good to know to find the originals.

The second one is myZ432.

Let's try to find out what is wrong and what is different.Be picky:geek:

When I dropped at Mr.Moroe's shop, I happened to see PS30-00087.

What a wonderful moment that my Z432 actually met her sister again since they came apart for delivery from the Nissan factory back in January 1970.

Like 26th and 27th, Chris:love: They must have wonderful times.

PS30-00087, she is now belonging to a new owner recently.

She is very beautiful , still keeping original body paint with lots of original part.Amazingly, she has not been restored.Her S20 engine and suspensions have been modified, and she has got AFM air conditioning system.

I was lucky I met her, she came to the shop to have totally restoration!!

For someone may interested in, she has got reproduction Z432 aluminum wheels. It looks perfect, center cap is also reproduced.I do not know they are still available or not. If you see my Z432's original Magnesium wheel and cap in my website, you can see how the repros are close to mine.

Last year I owned this Z432 but I had not enough time to drive her.Only once a month, 1 hour or so each time.I kept her at my parents home.

But from now, she is in my house.I drive and drive , even in the rain.I have to take a lot of pictures of this car before she gets dirty and old.

About a rally clock, in Japan many owners say it eats a lot of battery power,you will end up complete discharge in three days if you park the car with connecting the clock.

I did not believe it, but I had just same thing yesterday.This morning I had to do start Z432 with external power from another car.

Hi Kats,

I am surprised to discover that your sister car is silver also. Lately, I have discussions with several members about sister (twins) cars being the same color. You provide another excellent example! I wonder if Nissan, in the begining, produced cars that were the same color in groups of two or three or if this is just coincidence. Does anyone know of triplets?

There might be someting to that. I saw 810 2dr. #1442 in the in the junkyard about 5 years ago and it was the same code 609 brown as mine #1443. And these are 1979s. Could just be coincidence but I think the real coincidence is that I came across it.

Thank you 26th-Z and sblake01, I also imagine when the Z was assembled in the factory. There is a good reference, Mr. Watanabe who owns a 1969 Z432, he has been tracking chassis number and color of Z432 in Japan. Currently he confirmed 80 Z432s still existing in Japan(one or two were shipped to abroad maybe). You can see same color gropes quite often. Especially Z432-R were produced as an block which contain 4 or 5 cars.

Hi,

Now Japan is in a long holidays, very nice sunny day so I have done some works for my Z432.

My Z432 had been using OEM new master vac hose, but it was not cloth-braided. How everyone is doing about master vac hose? I have never seen NOS one in the EBAY since I have joined it in 2002.

So, I made it. It is not an OEM, it is a fake. But it looks pretty good shape is not it??

I use a NOS fuel hose, and a brass rod. That is all.The rod can be anything if it has enough strength to bend the hose and keep its shape.

Just cut the rod appropriately and let it go through the hose. Then you can bend the hose as much as you satisfy, now you go it. Just apply the hose to its original place, the rod is sitting inside with out problems.

My 240Z has done same thing and still without problem ,4 years has passed.

And the temp/oil gage, my Z432 got NOS one but it is for 1972 or 73. Indication scale is different, later gage does not have white center reference(actually for the water,it is not in center though)

So I replaced later scale to original re-conditioned ones.Only facing was replaced.

Heater panel label,Mikuni carb label,are in place. Did I show the battery? Fairlady cars have a small battery not like exported cars, the battery hard ware is completely different.

Kats,

Every time I think how wonderful and amazing your car is, you do some more to it, and it actually improves! It is truely amazing that everything you do pushes the standard! I hope that if you ever bring this/these cars to the states again you will let us know long before you travel so that we can make arrangements to travel to see you as well.
