Hi Gregg (everyone)

Humm... that's interesting.. It has the same Model Number as my kit, but a different image on the top.. What is the Copy Right Date on that one (if you know/or have it).

G'Day Bill,

The bloke who owns the model shop I deal with told me that kits for the 260 were never made. I don't know how true that statement is or whether he just couldn't be bothered chasing up a 260Z kit for me.

Found this 260Z police model on eBay.

This is actually the side of the package, not the top ... the front (top) is a actual photo of a Z car, while the side is a photo of the model put together. Mine is the toward the bottom of the page, Model Number 85-2392.

280z1975, thanks heaps for the pic, thats exactly what i was looking for. the pictures i remember of it where it out of the box, but that ones great!

the only 240z models i have were pre-built, ones the kyosho that looks like a model of alan's fairlady, then ones a cheapo green one as kind of a "mini me" to my car, even though there really isn't very much that similar except the basic shape and basic colours (tan vs cream, different shades of green, 240 vs 260)

Wouldn’t consider myself a model citizen, but I have an early Revell 240Z Peter Brock “46” 1/25 kit that I purchased from a guy off facebook a couple of years ago, and today found another for sale locally on Kijiji.  Definitely a later version. Model #’s are  H-1402 (early) and H-1422 (larger, later)

The early box is shorter and has a different image on one side than on the later taller box. The image of Pete and John is only on the early box. Not the most flattering pose for John. Ha!

Later taller box is also missing a strip. Dang it.  At least the model parts are all there and un-assembled. My early version is partly assembled and several of the pieces are off of the frame. Previous owner started assembly.

Haven’t search the inter webs for the part numbers to see how old they are, but pretty sure they would be 70’s.  Now that I’ve searched a bit, the instruction sheet indicates 1972.

Might part with the later one with the damaged box. Let me know if you’re interested

This stamp is on the later taller box, definitely an inferior copy of a copy or such.

This is on the earlier box. Much crisper.

zKars,

If you can provide additional information about the missing strip, I may have the part in my spares:
