Left hand drive KGC10? 2400GT?

Nice car Johann :)

I had one of those lefthand driven 2400GT:s here in Finland for a short time. When I got it, it was so rotten that it was almoust impossible to save. I sold the car to a another 2400GT owner who needed spareparts. There ain't many 2400GT:s left here in Finland either.

The rim's from Johann's car are proberly the rim's of me car

I have a complete speedometer in me shat from an 2000/2400 GT

To revive an old thread and to end the guessing,

I own a '71 Nissan 2400GT and have the chassis tags of another Nissan 2000GT Left hand drive.

Also there is one other 2000GT alive in my country the Netherlands.

As far as I could trace there were a total of 40 2000GT's and 2400GT's sold at the time.

The car is designated HGLC10 for the 2400GT and GLC10 for the 2000GT. Engine is single carburator L20A or L24.

Apart from being LHD the rear lights were unique for this car as far as I'm aware,

Also no mentioning of "Skyline" on the car.

I enjoyed your homepage too. The photo of the TWO C10's, one with a caravan in tow is just brilliant!

Hello.

My name is Jorge and I'am the proud owner of a 1972 Nissan Skyline C-10 2400Gt !

This car was discovered about a month ago, in Funchal ( Madeira Island ), it was inside a garage stopped for more than a decade....

The car was a service car, from the local 70's Nissan Representative there, and was only used in very few ocasions and then left to rest in the garage...So it only has..about 6.500 km's on the odometer ! :lick:

After the buy, I've fully serviced the car and now it's on the streets again !!

I will post some photos of this rare find on this tread !!

I also have another Classic Japonese car, it's a Datsun 510 1600SSS from 1971 and I also have 3 other Vintage Classic Cars from Germany.

Who would have believed a "barn find" C10? ...with such low mileage? well maybe it's 106,500Kms but even that would be extemely low and desirable. Thats pure gold Jorge! It certainly looks very original throughout (steering wheel?) . I'm glad you found our little classic Skylines corner of the 'net and hope you're here for a while. Just what did you have to do to get it driving again? Any plans? Any more in your part of the world?

Hello.

I did not restored it, there was no need for that :D

The car was found in excelente condition, everything works 100% !

The car is REALLY almost NEW, and now after the test drives I've made on it ir marks 6.850 Km's on the odometer.

I will post some detail photos that show the millage of the car is correct on another tread.

The paint is still 90% Ok, with only the engine bay in need of a re-spray, because the previous owner left the engine hood open for about 10 years, so dust in conjunction with motor oil stained the paint :mad:

The guy was a bit sloppy with the car, I will post some photos of with as I found it on his garage...The interior and engine bay was all covered with dust, the trunk compartiment was filled with toys from his kids......

Luckly nothing happend to the seats and dashboard that are in mint condition.

All I did was a good klean on car throughly inside and outside, machine polish the paint with AutoGlym High Resin Polish Wax and I did a good mechanical service on it :

New spark plugs and wires, new condenser and battery, 5 lts of Castrol GTX 15w50 and Wynn's Gold protective aditive, new DOT4 Brake fluid, complete brake and cluth overhault, complete drain on the cooling system and some more things I don't remember now.

Here's some photos of the car as I found it, and on the way to be shipped outside Madeira Island to Portugal by boat.

Hello and Thanks for the Welcome :)

The car is completly original.

This steering wheel is a "DeMoura" St.Wheel, and it was ( At least here in Portugal ) a very desirable original part for any Datsun at the beggining of the70's.

It was sold by the Nissan Dealers here as a Sport Pack addition for the cars, that also included other "competition" parts... Some customers that didn't like the thin wood Datsun wheel could put this one on the car on request, since it's a little smaller and has a leather grip ( Kinda looks like the Alpina Steering Wheel for the BMW's ) ;)

I have one also on my Datsun 510 1600SSS.

Of course this was a very expensive wheel at that time.

Because my car belonged to the Administrator of the Nissan Dealer in Madeira Island, it has also all the factory extras possible for the model, like the rear heated glass, the radio, the back head rests, the rear seat belts, the "DeMoura" Steering Wheel, etc.....

To make this car drivable again I only had to make a good service on it and a good cleaning inside and outside, polish the paint and that's it - nothing more was needed :cool:

I plan to add later some Watanabe Wheels to it and nothing more - I want to keep him as much original as possible, since it's a very rare model.

I'am pretty sure the car has less than 7.000 km's, because :

The last MOT he made before the one he made a few weeks ago, was in August 2000 and it only had 5.200 km's at the time...

The History of this car is fully documented by the previous owner, since the car was always in the same family for all these years - The Nissan Administrator that owned the car in the 70's was the father of the guy that sold the car to me...in fact the father is still alive and in good health !

But the car itself shows that he was only used ocasionaly all these years, take a look at the photos :

The front disk brakes have little to no wear.

The inside of the front fenders speak for them self....

The Steering Wheel leather has no wear.

The Interior of the car and seats look almost Brand New.

The brake pedal and clutch pedal have almost no wear.

The wheel hubcaps are almost brand new, no traces of wear at all - The inside still displays the manufacturer brand - IKI.

The turn side lights look new....
