Hi,

This is my first posting and I am the seller of the Silvia. I had some wild ideas but this time I felt a bit guilty cutting up and modifying this one. I got a phone call from Mr Goertz about 3-1/2 years ago as it had come to his knowledge that I had a Silvia. He was joking about everything as usual and told me to hurry up with the restoration as "I'm old and I might die any day now, so fix up the car and show it to me ASAP".

As for the price for this car. I am selling it at what I paid for the car plus freight and registration. I paid more for the shipping from Australia than I paid for the car there.

I would ask you mates in Australia to please help Symon sort this one out. He need a few parts for the car to complete it. For my own plans I have made fibreglass molds of almost everything on the body and maybe I might build a replica as a convertible using BMW M3 (3.0, 286 hp) engine and drivetrain, with my own backbone chassis instead of the FairLady Roadster frame used on the original. As Jan wrote in his reply I am a bit weird (but so is he as he bought my 240Z a few years ago). I hope Symon can pick up the car before August. I need that garage for one more BMW and the money for some Ferrari parts ;-)

Hi V12 Horse,

Maybe my wife doesn´t really understand what a Silvia is, it´s most likely that she sees it as another moneypit that will keep her husband in the garage for the next couple of years !!!

Hope to get the Silvia into the body shop in September to have the car painted. I´ve already scrapped off all the paint & body filler from the outer bosdy panels. All I´ve got do know is do the same underneath, knock out all the dents & lead load.

Since the Silvia was hand formed by panel beaters, I'm willing to bet there was alot of filler!

Are you doubting the skill of Nissan workmanship? Maybe if it was an American, or Australian hand formed car.

May aswell update everyone on my progress too.

Last weekend I fixed the rear brakes, weekend before I replaced the front calipers. It should stop now. This weekend I'll get it out on the road and see how she goes.

Hi Kyteler,

Yes I´m really happy, like a dog with 2 tails !! & with a bit of luck I´ll be buying a R32 GTR Skyline this week so I´ll have a perfect set of cars.

Hi Victor,

The Silvia is really well built. At some time some brainless twit has repaired the lower door skins & sills. There was at least 2 cm ( more than 3/4 of an inch for those unmetric people out there ) of body filler. There was body filler applied all over the car even though there were no dents. ****king idiots !

The original lead loading is still intact, so I shall leave alone & I will knock out all dents & lead load as it should be done. & yes I´ll be making some new door skins & sills.

Mr Camouflague,

Lets hope that the brakes now work properly & that you don´t have anymore excusses for not taking her out !

symon, I must say, you have the best and most superb taste! the 32GT-R is by far the nicest of all GT-R's built after the C110. What colour? Gunmetal? White? Black? or the more rare Maroon/Wine Red? In stock form? modified?

I would really like either a white or gunmetal one in complete stock form, it would be fantastic.

Hi Guys,

The Skyline that I´m after is silver. Recommended by Alan from London. When the deal is done I´ll post some pics.

I think I´ll have to stop after the Skyline as my garage will be full, will have problems with my future ex wife & I´ll have loads on my plate just keeping them running & enjoying.

Here is a photo of the Silvia at Les' shop when it was new. It was being shown at a car show in Hawaii by Elroy Goto (owner- Datsun Race Car Driver) and his wife (pictured).

Hi Symon,

congratulations on the purchase. There are a few pictures of a Silvia that came up for sale here in Perth, Western Australia in my photo gallery on the 4th page.

I wish I still had my R32 GTR :( It is easily the best all rounder car that I have ever owned. I will be back in a GTR ...

Hi Cuong Nguyen,

Thanks for pointing out the photos of the Silvia LOL

Once you have had a GTR you can´t be without one. I ´ve driven and owned lots of performance cars and the GTR gets my vote as the best allrounder, fastest ( mine´s got 534 bhp ) and most fun through the corners. It also does wonders with the ladies ! :surprised
