Just wanted to let people know my experience converting from a single bar front strut brace to the unit offered by MSA (triangulated brace). Install was pretty simple....as far as aftermarket parts go anyway! I did have to do a little modification to the mounting tabs that attach to the lip on the firewall. They were a tad on the long side and had to shorten them approximately 1/4", as well as, flatten the rearward most part of the tube the tabs are attached to. A few taps with a hand held adjuster reduced the slight curve to a straight section.....fits perfectly now and the small taps with the hand held are not visible. I couldn't hardly beleive that after the slight adj…

There are a few different aftermarket upper strut mounts available that allow you to change camber but all of the ones I have seen remove the vibration insulator of the stock unit and allow the road vibration to come up straight into the body of the car. So, what if I burned out the rubber of the stock insulator and reposition the inner cup that holds the bearing and top of the shock so I would get 1.5 degrees of negative camber then filled the cavity where the rubber was with something that would do the job? The liquid urethane that is used to secure modern windshields is the first thing that comes to mind but I'm sure there are a few things that could work. I wou…

I'm pretty sure I'm going to install the M6 motor and trans in a Z but I started thinking about all the suspension parts and if it would be possible to use those as well. I've never done a suspension transplant before so this might just be a terrible idea but I thought I would ask, where would I start on this? I think I would have to keep the Z steering rack... I guess I would really have to place the entire front and rear suspension set up under the Z and see what metal needs removal and what needs to be added for support.

Anyone know if there is a significant benefit of one over the other? Price is not a factor. My gut tells me AZ is the better suspension (certainly looks sexier) but, I could just be biased.

Can anyone give an overview of "Bob Sharp Racing Springs and Struts"? The IMSA 240z I picked up has them according to the PO but I have not had a chance to disassemble the car yet and see what lurks beneath. It certainly is lower than a stock Z.

I checked the search feature but not much came up. Anybody here do the install for this? Their latest version has 3 pieces and a bunch of bolts. Very nice quality anodized parts. No instructions so I asked and they sent some nice pictures but they appear to be for an earlier version with everything mounted underneath the strut towers. The top billet piece has all the hash marks for indexing where the settings are but if it goes underneath like the pics you cant see them. I am waiting on a clarification from them but thot I would see if anyone on here has done an install. I chose bolt in because I didn't want to weld in that area of the car, especially on the rear…
