Hello, My name is Bart, and I've been on this forum before in the past, when I had a 73 240Z. That project never made it to much rust, and I sold it for parts. It's been quiet for a while, and personally I kept thinking of owning another 240Z in the future, but good ones are expensive here in The Netherlands, compared to the US. But since I started my own company, things got better financially, and last year I was able to afford myself another 240Z. This time a 71. -> HLS30 32581 Well I had to share it with you guys offcourse, here are the Z enthousiasts ! :classic: Learned from the past on the rust problems, I decided that I didn't want a " that kind of a project " …

Hi everyone, I always dreamed about having a sports car or a manual transmission car for that matter. I'm a manager at a doggie daycare and one of my favorite clients owned a 1970 datsun 240z that he told me about a few times. I have been searching for a second car and I couldn't narrow down what I wanted to buy with little money that I had to save. One day my favorite clients wife told me she was making her hubby sell his car or give it to the neighbor because he had t touched it for 2 years(stopped running after he bought it). So I said jokingly you guys should give it to me, I'll fix it!!! And so after a maybe 15 min drive home I got the call "it's yours!". So I…

The story begins here, in Gothenburg... This is my 1971 240z when I picked it up after arriving in Gothenburg from Chicago. E"verything" looked "well" - and met my expectations from the pics in the ebay auction. However - the "rust free" turned out to be a big hoax... Anyway, after getting it up on the trailer and taking it home to Stockholm it was unloaded at a friends company - called Speedworks where I assume most of the mechanical mischief will take place once the car's been restored. The engine was fired up (or rather jump-started since the ignition wires had been yanked from it's original place) - picure below. Vidcap-picture of the car at Speedworks. …

This thread has been a long time coming. I got my 240z when i was twelve, and stared at it in the garage for 4 years before i could drive it. Its been a work in progress ever since. I made up my mind 5 years ago I was gonna save up enough to drive the car across country and relocate there. I moved to chicago and worked for 4 years saving up to come back and finish the car. I quit my job in May and spent the whole summer welding, sanding, wrenching, and thinking id never get done. As i am anything but a mechanic. Those of you on the threads will know that, as I have bugged nearly everyone on here for help along the way. You can see my car on my profile. This s…

Back Story: Scowering(?) through CL for a couple of months and researching different types of sporty vehicles in hopes of one day getting my hands on one but yet had no idea on what car specifically I ended up with a list. I was to get either a 240sx, a Cressida, a RX-7, a Celica Supra, a Miata, a S30Z, a S130Z, or an early model Z31. For those of you still wondering what won... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Car: 1976 Datsun 280z (1 year shy of being SMOG Exempt!! ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Purchase: I saw it last week on CL for a pretty small c…

I placed a AD on craigs list last week for a wanted 240Z body that was in clean shape.I got a few calls here and there.Yesterday morning a woman called me to tell me about her 73 240Z she has.She said that she stored her 240Z since 1987 in her parents chicken coop and now she is selling there home and has to get rid of the car.She explained that she is the original owner, never had a accident and car was out of the weather for 14 1/3 years so it should be in good condition for me.So I decided to go on this 3 hour tour to her farm is Petaluma,CA. The coop that that car was in was in such bad shape that there was holes in the floor from rot.I cant believe the car didn't fall…

Hey there, I'm going to post the beginning of my 240Z project here and will update it every time and so on... For the rest of myself see my introduction on the members part.. I don't know much about Datsun for now, so all the help would be great! The owner didn't have much information about it, he thought it was from 71? He sas i had my hands on a 240Z chassis with 280Z motor. But i found a 260Z logo in some boxes that came with it? But he says that is not the original logo. I put here in the shed, and started working on it.. Few pictures ( More to come ):

I have been around for a while mainly trying to drum up classic Z's for my Z club meets, man you guys are tough to get out so I figured I had to get one in order to have one at the meets. I have been an S30 lover for decades and always wanted one, I had satisfied my thirst for Z's with a heavily modified 350Z and a slighlty modified 300Zx (Z32) and but was finally able to get my hands on a 1971 240Z. Many thanks to Carl Beck for putting up with me constant noob questions, I am sure this will not stop as I go about restoring her and will be on this board asking away. Here are some pics picking her up Here are some pics of my other babies

Hi, I’m Matt. I’ve been a member of Z.Car for a little and figured I’d jump in here too because I’m always lurking. I have a pretty rough 79 280ZX that I’ve had for maybe 15 years. It’s has sat for about the last 10 or so. I daily drove it for a few years, then let it set after some slight running issues and started a family so some of my side projects got put on hold. I had to move the car from where it was being stored(barn) so I got it fired up and running and all my old dreams of doing something to this car came back. Of course my wife’s response when I brought it back to the house was “you’re going to sell it, right?...Crushed!!! Well I absolutely love having s…

well after months of searching i finally for myself a 240z and not just a regular 240z a 1970 model made in March with Vin# 02062. Best of all it was practically in my back yard only 40 mins drive. I love the condition although it sat outside with the window half open for the last 2 years the only things i need to replace are the floor pans..... the body is extremely straight the doors close and latch completely, hood lines up perfectly. I dont really wanna post up a big novel so here's the pics..... more pics @ http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x293/khosein/240z/1st%20day/
