Figured I'd post up another build thread we've been working on for some time now, if anything for the entertainment of others to view. This is my personal Z I've had for some time now. Was actually in the process of tearing it down when a Series-1 came up for sale locally, temporarily putting the project on hold. If you're more interested in a completely bone stock resto you can hop over to that build thread here: Restoration of HLS30-12070 Back on the current build and some history on the car. It’s a late '72 build that had been sitting since '86 in dry storage when I bought it. 51K on the clock, few bumps and bruises but a very solid and complete car to work …

I hate posting this here, total no no but I've been after site support and moderator support for like 3 months to fix this. Can't view my profile, get this nonsense Anyone get any luck in getting site issues fixed? I'm a paying member no less, a bit frustrating. [[Template core/front/profile/profile is throwing an error. Hi, For someone who is interested in aerodynamics of our S30 cars, here is a thesis made by Nissan engineers in May 21st 1971. Aerodynamic Study on Passenger Car Body Configurations / Michio TAKEI, Hikota SAKAMOTO, Kazuhiko YOSHIYUKI. The effects of G-nose and spoilers are quite noticeable, 7 pages of this thesis is worth to read. I'm not an engineer so some of the numerical formulas are unable to understand but the figures and illustrates work easy for me. So, I tried to show one of their data. Those numbers in pictures are excerption from the thesis. The only thing which I am not for sure is the data of Clr for the rear spoiler only configurati…

Hi, I’ve had serval posts on my 1978 280z, I got really busy with school and work so I stopped working on the car. I had it sorta running about 8 months ago, till the hood latch pully broke and I just parked it and never got to it. I really want to get it going to at least drive on a weekend or so. I got a better job recently and want to throw in some money to get it running smoother. Does anyone know where I can start? On rebuilding, upgrading or replacing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought I remembered a map with "stick pins" with member locations? I'm a snowbird and spend winters in the St George, Utah area. This year I've seen a very nice black Z with the tail light panel painted silver, no bumpers and it has a V8. I stopped the guy once but didn't get his name, he said he had to get on the move before he over heated. Since I've seen the car a couple of times weeks apart from each other I'm guessing the car is local to the St George, UT area. I'd like to see that map and see if I can find this person.

I talked to ST suspension and was told sway bars made for stock 240Z's with L24 drivetrain might not be compatible with my car. Is this true? If so what would be compatible with my car?

Didn’t get any traction with this post in the suspension section. Here goes… Im looking to lower my 72 Z, but not looking to go with coil overs. As far as I can tell, the most common options are: 1. Eibach (not low enough for me and squatting issues) 2. Vogtland (similar to Eibach) 3. MSA performance linear springs. 4. Cutting OE springs (not my first choice, but a choice to get just the right height) My guess is that the MSA springs are the most agresssive drop you can get from an off the shelf spring. Any opinions on this? Anyone with the MSA springs that can chime in with pics/experiences? Here is a link: https://www.thezstore.com/product/4681/new-motorspo…

Just saw this. Maybe I’m late to the game here but this is the first I’ve seen in High Zinc additive. https://www.amazon.com/Castrol-Classic-20W-50-Conventional-Motor/dp/B09QXWLY2Y/ref=pd_rhf_d_cr_s_bmx_gp_la4mehqn_sccl_1_3/139-8531450-3914603?pd_rd_w=kiQ7z&content-id=amzn1.sym.9a6f1177-7e55-462d-bd77-cfaee186750a&pf_rd_p=9a6f1177-7e55-462d-bd77-cfaee186750a&pf_rd_r=XNJ1S7EH8MEJY42D1DAN&pd_rd_wg=0ExCb&pd_rd_r=7f457931-43eb-49a8-9f77-ee3270dc1cf9&pd_rd_i=B09QXWLY2Y&psc=1

oil consumption issue seems to be fixed. I switched to 10/30 VR1 since my oil seemed to be all ways stuck at about 60psi indicated (like it was in bypass all the time) Since going to the lighter oil it looks more normal (maxed at 60psi cold, but will vary with the RPM when warmed up. I had been running 20/50 and or 15/40 with the old oil burner. checked compression warm, all about 185 (throttle closed). This is with dished pistons and the head off a 84 maxima. I would have an occasional miss, I think it was injector harness related, I replaced all the plugs at the injectors, seems to have fixed the intermittent miss. The old ones were pretty beat up, and I notic…
