Finally got some new wheels for the Z. They're the xxr 513's in 15 x 8 with 0 offset. I'm running 1 inch spacers in the front and 1.5" in the rear to fill up the flares a little more. The tires are Falken ZE-502's in 205/50 R15. I have the Tokico 5020 (5220?) front springs that lower it about an inch.

Ok - what am I missing here? The standard bolt pattern on the 1973 240Z is 4 - 4.5 (114.3mm) - but the rotors in all the places I've looked show a bolt circle of 4 - 103mm. Do they measure the pattern differently on a rotor than they do on a wheel? I do not want to order rotors and have them not fit. Any info would be appreciated!

I've looked every where and these things seem to be made of *Unabtanium* The Previous Owner of My New (to me) Green 12/71' 240Z BROKE the bleeders off the rear wheel brake cylinders. I actually found Stress cracks in the blocks from the bleeders being tightened too damn Hard. I can't even drill them out and seem to be screwed at this point...... If you have a spare set of the PRE-6/72 Rear Wheel Cylinders, PLEASE let me know what you'd like for them, if you'd like a Headlight Upgrade Harness for them or what. The car is in the air and stuck there till I get these situated. So Please look around your parts and see if you have a set of Left and Right early 72' brake Cyl…

My passenger side rear brake seized yesterday and I can't figure out the cause. It seized up after sitting overnight with the parking brake on. I took off the parking brake cable and this did not help. I then hit the drum a couple of times with a rubber mallet and I was able to pry the drum off of the shoes. All looks normal inside. The shoes move freely and they are well lubed. I spun the adjuster wheel a couple of times and put the system back together and now the car stops, goes and the parking brake works. What could have caused this? I took that brake cylinder apart a couple of thousand miles ago to check the condition of the piston and bore. It looked goo…

Hello everyone... I am a newbie and this is my first post. Basically I bought slotted mags for my 240. I had bought some before, but they were 13'' and i wanted to stick with the 14''. So the other day, my father borrowed my Z and he ran over a screw and got a flat tire. I had to replace the tires anyway, so i got the slot mags and caps, along with good tires. I was all excited because I have not driven it in a week and i thought I'd be driving it to work tomorrow. So I got the tire off and found out the bolts/studs were too short!! :stupid: I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it and if about how much it will cost ( I get paid tomorrow, but I borrowed money to …

Ok so I am having trouble locating rims that fit my 1973 Datsun 240Z. I am looking for some original replicas or some nice modern styles to compare and see what looks best. Does anyone know a website to go to?

Thought I'd pass along my brake and bearing story, hoping it helps someone else out. I had two different problems I was trying to solve. First, I had a front end shimmy that I could feel in the wheel, especially at highway speeds when going around a curve. Second, I had pulsating in the brake pedal when applying the brakes that was an obvious rotor problem. I also had recently developed a random pull to the left or right when applying the brakes. I had already balanced the wheels and replaced the springs, struts and bushings, which really helped the shimmy, but didn't cure it. I attributed the random pull to my calipers being 25 years old, according to how they loo…

Just got A set of 513s XXR and need tires for them. I would Have got the tire rim package but I'm debating on 205s or 215s. The shop owner said 205/50/r16 would fit perfect but 215/50/r16 can also fit. He didn't know how much would 215 affect the ride.if anyone has an idea, recomend, or thoughts let me know. To tell u the truth I really like 215s( if they fit).

XXR Wheel has a new design (XXR 513) that bolts on directly to S30 Z! 15" or 16" x8", 0 offset. So now they have models 002 & 513. Nice to see companies are still making wheels for our cars. Possible vendor: http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-513-Wheels-15x8-Gun-Metal-p/51358089.htm

Hello all I finally have time to redo the front brakes on my 280z. In short the caliper on the right wheel is riding the wheel the entire time. The left caliper sticks occasionally. So I ordered a new set of calipers along with rotors. According to the manual I have to remove the rotor I have to remove the hub assembly, which contains the outer wheel bearing. I've never done this before so I'm rather in need of an explanation of how it should be done. Should I replace this bearing while I have everything apart? Thanks Jan
