Hello, I recently got a set of 15x8 0 offset Gold Watanabe Type R wheels. I currently have the front Toyota 4X4 SW13 brake calipers installed on my car which does not fit with the Watanabe wheels. My question is does anyone know what front and rear brake kits will work with my new wheels excluding the ZCG kit. My fenders are rolled/cut so I may also be able to run some spacer if needed but nothing too crazy. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

So finally got around to replacing my rear struts. I did notice that there was a little leak on the drivers side hose where it mounts to the body. It appears that the stem coming out of the stainless line is where it's coming out. I put on some stainless lines many, many years ago from Motorsport Auto. So, not the question is, since you can't get one hose, i thought I would replace both rear hoses. The stainless hose come in a set of four, so that's one option, or just get a pair of rubber stock hoses...... Not sure about running stainless hose in front and rubber in the rear? If I get a set of stainless, any recommendation there? I know most won't fit in the factory clip…

FYI - there’s a member over on HybridZ (walkerbk) who has created a nice replacement for the black bushing cover for the ebrake pivot. Picture of my OEM piece attached, which we used to design his version. Contact him with any interest, not me.

Thought this question would be best answered by the forum. I'm working on my 1977 280z and hoping to learn a little more about the wheels. My grandma purchased the car new in the Seattle area in 1977 and the car came with gold painted wheels from the dealer (at least I'm 90% sure that's the case). The gold paint (or tinted clear???) was chipping off so my uncle who owned the car before me had them stripped and polished. I'd like to restore them to the original gold but I can't find any pictures or information on the wheels as any other color than the black/polished combo. I'm attaching a picture of the wheel (not mine but one I found on the net) and a pic of an old …

Whilst on my far too frequent trawl through various searches on Yahoo Japan auctions, I found this Kobe Seiko wheel sticker. I loved it, but the price was high, and I left it a few weeks, and finally convinced myself (well the wallet) to buy it. Its fairly well documented on here who Kobe Seiko were and the wheels that they produced for the S30, as well as wheels for various other cars. I liked it as the wheel featuring on the sticker is a Maglloy version, Kobe released in, I think, 1978, and I am lucky enough to own. The original sticker is quite large (22cm) and due to its expense, I didn't want to use, or where to put it. So, I had the original scanned, scale…

I have a set of Watanabe style wheels that are on a 240Z that I recently purchased. I’ve googled the best I can but have not been able to ID their brand. Does anyone know what they are?

I have been searching for an original tire for my 6/1971 240z which I am restoring. I have read through all the threads I can find about what tires the 240z's came with originally (Bridgestone or Toyo). I knew my other 240z (track day car) still had the original spare tire in it, so I took a fresh look at it. I was surprised to see that the date code is 149 (fourteenth week of 1969). That is a lot earlier than I expected for the car given its 12/70 door tag date. It seems unlikely that it would have been swapped out for an earlier tire at some point. Anyone else see that kind of wide date range difference comparing your original spare tire and the manufacture…

I am blown away by the quality and engineering that went into this Zcargarage BBK (big brake kit) The kit was designed by stoptech engineers and Zcargarage from the ground up for the Z. I am sort of a guinea pig to see if consumers can install this kit. They have amazing detailed 40 page instructions. Which in the car world is rare. I’m stoked to get them installed. Kit comes with everything needed to install and retains stock parking brake and MC. Fits 15x8 wheels as well! So light!

I'm rebuilding my 77 280z brake calipers and plan on blasting and painting them. What was the original color? I'm seeing both silver (or raw casting??) and black when doing a google image search. It's not a huge deal, but I figure I'll try to make them look original if possible.

I'm about halfway through upgrading my brakes and just noticed the rotor is way too thick for the caliper. One side already has the rotor installed and I painted both calipers. Calipers are AC Delco 18FR247 and 18FR248 for an 85 4runner. They have S12-8 stamped on them. I got the rotor from silvermine as well as the spacers. Did I get the wrong calipers? Or am I supposed to just run the stock rotors?
