I have a 1973 240Z that Motorman7 restored in 2018 and 2019 discussed in the thread https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60309-were-bringin-back-the-flat-tops/. I saw the new Z at ZCON Colorado Springs where our '73 240Z took first place in the Stock judging category. (Thank Motorman7!) I knew then I wanted that beautiful Seiran Blue Z they had there and have been looking to buy one since. Finally, on April 14th, 50 years to the day after buying my '73 Blue Metallic 240Z, I bought a new 2023 Seiran Blue Z. The new Zs in blue are harder to find than the Proto Spec version and I found our new Z at a price I could live with at a Chicago dealer. Drove it t…

NOW I can talk about riding in the new Nissan Z. During the Mitty, I reached out to Rick Goolsby from HSR to see if I could get a ride in the Nissan Z pace car for parade laps. He said that Sunday was available, but I had to be in the gathering area at 10:45. I think I was there at least 15 minutes early. Jason, the driver, showed up with the pace car, and several of us looked around the car. The Nissan Z looks great in blue, and I have a feeling it will be a popular color. The car was a nine-speed automatic Performance model. A big motivation for me to get a ride was to see how tolerable the car might be for a daily driver. Even with my less than svelte figu…

I had a chance to ride shotgun during the parade laps at the Mitty today. I think the HSR pace car driver is enjoying the gig.

The red Z will be at Caffeine and Octane in Atlanta tomorrow. Even the wife is willing to get up early to see it.

Nissan making a big deal of the new Z to be raced in the GT500 series yet it's not a real Z. Check this, a two litre turbo engine with sequential transmission and a special chassis. What is this race series going to tell us about the new Z? Nothing, absolutely nothing. What lala land do Nissan live in, the original racing Z, that they are riding on the back of, was basically a stock Z!!

This is why we need orange as a choice for paint. Also, I like the break in the grille.
