  1. Hi it's been a while since I've been on the site. Finally finished my Z and the first 3-show's-2-first's and 1 second(Datsun 2000 beat me).Oh well still a Datsun and a friend of mine.Since finishing the Z I thought I would look for a set of vintage wheel's that would look proper for the era. After spending time looking lo-and-behold right in my hometown a another friend with a 240(org owner)said I have a old set of wheel's that i used for snow tires he never really liked them and couldn't remember every cleaning them(I can believe that). We go in his garage and they are just what I was looking for(I had a set on my 72 240 back in the day). You would think these are American Racing Libre's,but no!These are Shelby Viper's same style but rarer. Now my question does anyone anywhere have a set of center cap's?I can find the American racing one's but to be org I would like the org. Shelby cap's?These are wheel's I'm talking about.Anything you can do will help thank you for looking.Tom.
  2. Thank's guy's,I've done a CL want ad around here got a couple bite's,looked at one in eastern Wa. that had the Technover Verison(302 Ford) that was only nice piece on the car.I had a gentleman reply to my ad last sat.He send's one picture of a very nice 280(light blue, wheel's painted same as the body Enkei mesh?)tell's me it has a 1993 Z-28 350-with 6-speed,i emailed him back and nothing! The gentleman's name is John S.Ring any bell's?I'll try HybridZ too thank's again.
  3. A quick note out there. Is there anyone that know's of a nice(no rat nest wiring)Z conversion.I live on the other side of Seattle Wa.I've looked at a couple around the state(most have Automatic's,Yuk!)Real sports car have manual's.The ideal car would be a 302(alum head's) ford, with a 5-6 speed.I've always wanted a Scarab and had a (small)chance to have one built in 76 with my 72 240(but wife said no.I don't have the wife anymore, but would still have the Scarab). Before you think that's all I will have,i've just finished my 75 280,well 99% done, and want a V-8 car to sit next to the 280.I don't mind a little travel, but please nothing on the other side of the country.Thank you for any help you can give.Tom.
  4. Hey Matt, thought I'd check on your (almost done)Z.As always first rate all the way.I've talked with a bunch of us sports car guy's around here, and if you come over here this summer we'll do a tour of the coast(Hwy 101).We'll talk,Tom.
  5. Thank's Matt,we're getting there,it's been fun watching our 2-Z's coming together, hope you can make it out this year.To answer Capt. Obvious question,he's a great friend,he(Cameron) does have a shop here in Port Orchard Wa.It's under the name VolksFab.If you look up VW Tillamook Cheese Van&Pick-up's you will see his work,he is well known in the VW community. He's also finishing the interior,Jay is his interior guy(another one of the best). The mount's he building for my Vintage Recaro another work of art.Cameron told me it's not a cheap bar to build,i believe him.
  6. This is what I found out today, after talking with the gentleman I brought the car from(he brought it from org.owner in Az.)He took one of the inside panel's off,and the paint co. took a picture(I guess the paint co's have a special camera for that sort of thing) of the org. paint there. They matched it from the org.color.So the outside is as close as you can get to the org. inside color. After taking my can of what I have left from the paint job(done in 2008)to my paint guy,to match the roll bar,he looked up in the old catalog's,and found a color code #193 Orange for 1975 Datsun car's.Anybody know that paint code?I have seen a 75 280 in code#110,and mine is not that color.Weird huh?
  7. Hi everyone,i've had my 280 for 3 years now,and is finally getting close to being finished.I have a question, mine is factory Orange(not Red Code #110).The code tag is long gone, and last owner had the car painted the same color as factory, and I do have the paint can,but newer paint# doesn't help.I'm having my Roll Bar Powder Coated, and would like the org. paint code#.Here's some picture's of org.paint on the inside,so we know this is factory color.Any idea's?Also here's picture's of my 4-point Roll-Bar a good friend built,he kinda got out-of-hand,from a simple 4-point,but it turned into a work of art,IMPO.Thank's for any help,Tom.
  8. Hi,i'm new to your forum,i have a 75 280,and i'm 90%done,but i not been able to find a pair of door panel's.A friend of mine, has had what left of mine for 2-1/2 year's,and doubt if those will ever be repaired.I need a good pair, maybe not perfect but at least serviceable, this is the last big item.If any of you have a pair, please get in touch with me,Thank you,Tom.
  9. Thank you mjr45,let's try hr369 new interior piece's first,i have what's left of mine, and my interior guy said he could build new one's but,not with org. vinyl.I'm trying to keep the interior somewhat stock, other then the seat's,and steering wheel.Thank's again,Tom.
  10. Thank's hr369,i would really like new one's to go with the car,let me do a little homework on what I can afford. If you have any idea on price in mind, let's make this work, this will be the finishing touch on the interior. Is there any way to get a hold of you,i don't know how to get you my phone#,or email here?Thank you,Tom.
  11. Hi everyone,i've just joined this great site yesterday,and have had a wonderful welcome.I'm just about done with my 1975 280,and the only piece's I can't find,are the door panel's,as you know,they are only a 74 260,and 75 280 piece.I've looked for 2-1/2 year's for a good pair,and come up empty,Craigslist,from Seattle to Portland has had nothing,if anyone know's of a pair in the northwest(Washington,Oregon),please contact me here.Here's a couple picture's of my Z,almost done.Thank you for your help,Tom.
  12. Hi,Everyone,a little info.on my self.I brought my first Z,in 1975,a beautiful 1972 240,that I took from stock to a west coast Auto-X championship in 1978-80,when I got beat by the then new RX-7's.So I switched(I know,i know)to a new 1980 Rx-7,and won a another championship.Now roll ahead,another 34 year's,in my 50's now,and have the bug for everything I had in the great 1970's(even 70's stereo's),so a 85% restored 1975 280 sit's in the garage,and a org. 1979 Rx-7 is at LeMays museum.I will need a little help,with the finishing of the Z's int piece's,the ol'brain isn't as good as it used to be.Anyway here's a couple picture's of the ol'girl now.I hope to have her done by the spring of 2015,i live in the northwest Wa. area,and there is lot's to do,(Sorven vintage racing,Auto-X,and lot's of car show's).Thank you for your time,Tom.
