Huge parts score on eBay

Recommended Posts

It would be nice if there was a list by pn of everything in that lot, along with pic's of the items in the boxes. Seems like a lot of money to purchase based on a pic of a bunch of boxes and some used parts. Maybe some of the hard core collectors know the value just by looking at that stash, but in my other hobbies I have found it helpful to see a list and pics.

Maybe all of those old boxes are empty? Wouldn't that be funny??? I didn't see anything worth very much but I didn't look up all of the part numbers either. I think that for $3000 the seller could list the part numbers for us. I think it's a big gamble to bid on that stuff.

Someone on Facebook recently had a ton of Z stuff for sale...truckloads! But it was mostly just pic of boxes. I asked if he had a list of parts but he didn't. How can I make an offer if I don't even know what I might be buying?

Carpets look nice.  Neat photo of the old guy... he looks like he spent his grocery money on car parts though.

knowing my luck, I would win an auction like this and end up with a bunch of 310 parts and a used smog pump for $2,000.  So then I would be telling myself, "well you never know.  You just might need that someday...".

I think it says that the carpets are torn. Aren't there holes where the snaps should be? Pic of the old guy is great!

I would think $1000 is a vary reasonable price. I would expect a steep discount to buy a lot like this. If they want retail then they need to sell them individually...

hello

I added some part numbers to the ebay listing. What I come away with looking through this stuff is  how much better made it is.

We want to make sure that the parts fit 240's. By the time we punch in the numbers to verify we might as well show what Chinese versions sell for.

There's a 100+ boxes  still and 100 new non labeled unknown exactly what they are  parts a friend is coming to assist in identifying.

Never going to get part numbers completed before auction ends. Looks like we'll separate them. I'll be busy til February but certain we'll be putting 5 to 10 thousand in the bank

just found another box of plug wire ends and a jar of I bet impossible to find little items

Any interest in what appears to be an excellent 1972 240 motor and 4 speed transmission. Engine missing intake but certain it's in excellent running condition.

We would take 1500.00

The photos don't begin to reflect the volume of stuff here.

Also the parts and numbers just added  all came from what I considered the junk box of the 5 boxes plus the mint radiator and a dozen new old stock belts I'd forgotten

I like the old picture of the Boeing engineer who had purchased and stored all of the Datsun parts standing next to his 240Z so many years ago.

"These parts came from the estate of a Boeing Airplane Company Electrical Engineer. He was in charge of the quality control for all the wiring in the 747 757 and 767 airplanes.    In a word this gentleman was meticulous. Every tool and piece of equipment in his shop and work rooms was top of the line and looked brand new. An array of test equipment and tools some he manufactured himself. There were literally walls of bins filled with every nut, bolt, wrench, screw and whatever known to man. We'll assume Boeing was a great source. I also purchased some of 100's of pieces of audio equipment from the estate which included absolutely mint McIntosh amplifiers and Klipsch speakers. If you were to single out the perfect person to be the guardian of vintage car parts he was IT. We included a photo of the 1972 or 1973 Datsun 240Z labeled as prior to painting."
