Awe man that (dirty word) SUCKS!

Go the oldest painter in town, he has painted a Z I'd bet. Get the parts list from the estimate and post it up. I've put a 240 bumper And Xenon spoiler on mine and have those small pices under the headlights you can have, maybe something else I got? Also Bo Gibbs junkyard from the '60s is right before Albertville. They have 4 or 5 280Zs I get parts off.

You now we're gonna keep you and Lisa at the local shows representing Datsun.

I see a passenger fender, scoop, headlight, ring, possibly a headlight housing. The hardest thing to find is the passenger side front bumper end for a 77'.

She needs a 240 bumper and brackets, right Greg. I love my skinny bumper. Wow that's what I said about that meth head I went out with a couple months ago. ROFL

I thought she was a super model until a tooth fell out.

I was thinking the the same thing Cliff, but it might look weird with her stock back bumper....if it stays. That would be an option too. But who knows what her insurance will pay for and how they will handle the parts situation,  and Jai may not go for that kind of change anyway.

I'll bet the toof incident didn't stop you though.  Am I right? ;)

It is a 76'. but she has a 77' bumper on the front.  That's the way it came to her from the PO.  Either one will be most difficult to replace.

1 (310) 308-8455. You might want to give this info to the body shop right away. From what I can see it's in pretty good shape. Like said above, It's going to be really hard to find the bumper pieces. You might want to search this site for people that have recently switched their bumpers for the 240 style. Maybe they still have the original bumper parts.

That really sucks Jai. I wish you luck on getting Redwing fixed.

I have a front bumper from 75-76 that would match the original one from her car.  It is only the bumper bar (not the rubber pieces) and has a few small dings in it but overall it is in good condition.  The one I have on my car has already been re-chromed and so I really don't have a need for the spare one that I have.  If Jai wants it she can have it for the cost of shipping to her location.

Hope that helps.

Mike.

Thanks Mike.  I'm  making a list of offers to give to body shop.  It would depend for this bumper, if the rubber can be found.  I do want  '76 bumper on her, getting rid of the '77 wrong one.

Wow!  Good fortune!!!  I called Quality Auto Parts, and they have the complete 1976 CORRECT bumper for RedBird.  Also, I asked them about the headlight bezel  (sugar scoop) and they have that too.  I forgot to ask them about the fender tho.  The bumper and bezel are in perfect condition.

So I then called Rex at the body shop and gave him the info.  He didn't  even flinch when I gave him the quoted prices.  Which are $785 for the bumper, and $220. for the bezel etc.  Rex asked me if he was able to pin down a fender from them, would I be OK with him ordering the 3 from Quality Parts?  No problem on my score!  Do it!

Looks like things might be heating up for RedBird's repairs soon!  I am so excited!!!

Any information you all might be able to share with me, I would be very appreciative.  Like things needed to complete the installation.  Things not included but needed for the complete repair.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy...............

Hahaha...

It depends if RedBird needs the plate that is between this/these 2 part(s), there is a complete set of 3 on ebay.  I already noted it to Rex  at the body shop.  If it does not need the plate, I might take you up on your offer!  Thanks so much.

I'm so excited!!!

Yeah I guess 3 sounds better, 2 sides and the center valence.  I have the sides, the center valence is a firm backing for the air damn I put on so it's still in place.  And the plate, I can only think he's talking about the inner fender?

That's the one that is supposed to be on her car IIRC. If the rear one has the rounded corners then she may want the one from ebay so it matches the rear.

Here is a photo of the corner of my rear bumper.  Is it the rounded one?

Thanks for your help.

Yes Jai, rounded bumper. Here is an example pic.  Don't forget the headlight  ring  https://zcardepot.com/headlight-trim-ring-pair-oem.html and maybe the headlight housing https://zcarsource.com/headlight-assembly-280z-75-78-right-used.

Thanks Greg.  Appreciate the help with things that are not so obvious.
