Yeah.....Totally new territory for me....So glad my buddy Eiji is close by. I'll take the head up next week and work with him to put her together. He says 89mm bore...83mm stroke .3mm above deck....90.5mm x 1.29mm gasket....44cc head volume and 5.2cc piston volume. He said a 10.7:1 CR. Like I said....new territory for me! Anxious to see what she'll do.

Always a treat to see how clean a real engine builder keeps their shop, one of  the guys in our local club has one of Eiji's engines, he says it just sings.

Nothing like the sound of Triple 44's at full song!!. Unless it's a set of Jenvey ITB's with modern Fuel Injection!!! B)

Eiji says he's hit 10,000 rpm. Impressive, but I wouldn't want it to live there long.

I'm guessing those rods are the same as the ones on eBay at $350 a set? They're being used on lots of engines now.

looks like a tasty build.

???  Those are DSI rods.  I don't think Eiji sells on ebay.

Sorry, they look like exactly the same forging/design.  either way, they seem to work great. :)

They might be.  I'm no expert on connecting rods.  I've met Eiji and have one of his motors.  He's pretty particular about his builds and it's a very smooth rev'ing motor.  He's got one in his white z that is just brutal!

Very interested to see what it does also! I have the same bits in bottom end, bit of extra crank work and a worked P90 shaved 2.4mm.

The ebay rods are not the same as DSI. There is a big weight difference.

Datsun Spirit builds some wicked responsive high revving motors. Eiji is a true enthusiast and very professional to deal with . Really pays attention to detail. I Just got back on the road with Datsun Spirits " stage 3" build in January. Haven't had time on the dyno yet so no numbers but can vouch for 9000 rpm pulls in every gear if you like. Its really just ego after 8000rpm though. Motor really comes to life around 4000 rpm and pulls hard till around 7500 + rpm. Challenge becomes not leaning out and ignition. You might consider distributorless electronic ignition for tuning.
See you live in Richmond,VA?
Hope to see you on the road soon. Highway 711 is always fun for spirited driving.
