SeKcGamer Posted April 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2017 Finally installed new fusible wire as directed [emoji23]. But the car starts but runs really rough then turns off on its own, even if i give it some gas. Still confused as to what the problem is. When I first started the car it gave this loud after fire shot that probably scared the neighbors [emoji23]. esmit208 Posted May 8, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 8, 2017 I had the same issue with a 77. The ECU for your car is behind a kick panel on the drivers side footwell. Disconnect it and try to gently clean the connecting pins. It turns out that the actual male and female ends get compromised after a while due to dust and vibration. They were not the best but they were top of the line then. I finally took the largest zip tie I could find to hold the two ends together. But I fought with the fusible link also until another Z enthusiast told me about ECU location. Good luck.
