Right, all my guages work fine, even if the tacho is a little jumpy LOL..

However ALL the dash lights are very very dull, even with the dimmer up full.

Anyone got a resistor mod, or a dimmer mod for these???

or can you get LED insertd to replace the old style bulbs??

Thanks again!

Adam

Yeah you can use LED,

The standard globes are about 5w

soooo

you need 12v Wedge globes, which are available as an LED, but you will loose the ability to dim them,

I dont mind that so much, just want to be able to see at night! LOL

so1 12v wedge LED globes??

Do autoibarn and such have these??

Thanks

Hey, from memory some the globes in the dash are T10 (globe size) and some are a different size, but the main ones you want to change are the T10 ones, also there is a green cover over where the globe sits so if you want the LEDs to actualy light up your dash you may want to get rid of them, I did it by placing a screw driver in the hole (once I removed the globe) and give it a decent tap till the tabs break. I changed mine a couple of years ago but they weren't bright enough, was a single led, but the new ones are alot brighter these days, more LEDs per globe. Autobarn sell them at about three times the price you can get them from eBay, I bought some recently and from memory I paid about $20 Inc postage for 10 globes from hong kong. SMD LEDs seem to be the brightest I've found so far. Hope this helps

  • 4 months later...

we always need them to be green, to keep the classic style

what I did, I replace them all by green bulb ( made in malaysia )

actually I didnot noticed how many watts are they, but at least they fit

without base modification, as you know the bulb base ( holder ) is big

any way I got the green illumination but I did not get the brightness, so I will

search for the LED bulb, but what I am worried about is the holder modification
