They called it Project 370Z. To put it to the test, Nissan fans were asked to vote for a challenger to compete against it. They chose a 1970 Datsun 240Z with an RB26 engine transplant built by Gordon MacSwain. Taking the Plunge

It is not often that I get to spend so much time with one amazing car. During this trip I have been fortunate enough to spend some time with the new owner of this Skyline, Eric Bauer. Going back to where we left off testing at Miller Motorsports Park, Eric flew to the JDM Legends shop in Salt Lake City and drove his car back to Southern California. This special car couldn�t be in better hands. Not only does Eric do 3D modeling for most of the various automakers around the world, he also teaches at the Art Center College of Design and helps prepare the future generations of auto designers. It is nice to know that such a special car has landed in special hands. In filming this episode we were able to use the Art Center building as a backdrop which seemed equally fitting for shooting this Skyline. Also we were able to take the car up the magnificent Angeles Crest Highway for some spirited driving. Hearing the sound echo off the mountain walls is a sound to behold. Eric has a lot of love for this car and is a twelve year story in the making. Eric is all about driving the Skyline as often as he can and I can see why. Every ride consists of waves, honks, pictures, smiles, and conversation. This Skyline is the ultimate magnet and even those who aren�t into cars can tell that it is something special. The joy that it brings to Eric is infectious and you can�t help but smile in watching. Here is to many years of this car cruising around SoCal and to the glorious sound that follows.

On a dark, drizzly day in the San Francisco Bay Area, Petrolicious caught up with Ivan Jaramillo, the owner of not just one, but two Skylines: the Hakosuka and the Kenmeri. With epic histories, straight sixes and little effort, both cars roared through redwood groves and past horse ranches on Lucas Valley Road before posing for their close ups along the bay. In this feature interview, Ivan passionately describes his love of Japanese automobiles and more specifically the Hakosuka and the Kenmeri.

This was my first car rebuild, working on it every spare moment we managed to complete the project in 13 Weeks.every panel has been replaced except the roof ,both drivers and passengers floors required cutting out and replacing as well as extensive sil and other body work before putting the panel's on .The car is painted Mazda 3 green and is running sss pulsar brakes all round apart from this it is almost completely stock.

The BRE team changed the perception of Japanese cars as they won the SCCA D Production Pacific Coast Championship in 1969 with the BRE Datsun 2000 Roadster, the C Production Championships in 1970 and 71 with the BRE Datsun 240Z and won the professional Trans-Am 2.5 series Championships in 1971 and 72 with the BRE Datsun 510s. I picked up both cars from the same location. Th white one was my main purchase while the blue one was an engine donor for the while one bc of a blown head gasket. I pulled the engine from the blue one to be rebuilt and put back into the white one to make it a full matching numbers original.

The 240Z was a revelation to the automotive world an affordable sports car that could be driven every day and was accessible to anyone with the $3,626 base price.And though the price of a new Z might have changed a little in the past 40 years, its unmatched value, style, performance and segment leadership remains stronger than ever. To celebrate, Nissan has created a special, limited production version of the current 2010 Nissan 370Z Coupe, the 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition. My 260 Z at Bathurst Easter 2012

260ZDatsun at Bathurst Easter 2012 Bathurst is the iconic Australain road race circuit. The following is from Wikipedia. The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) long, and is technically a street circuit, as the circuit is a public road when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit. The track is an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174 metre (570 foot) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. From the start-finish line, the track can be viewed in three sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself; and then the long, downhill section of Conrod Straight, with the very fast Chase and the turn back onto pit straight to complete the lap.
