The throttle arm connected to the main shaft was wallowed causing rotational slop and delayed throttle valve actuation. I brazed the hole in the arm then drilled out and filed to fit the main shaft better.

I picked up an original style air cleaner box for my 240z. It was in good shape but had been painted fire engine red at some point. Got it off Ebay for $45 with the mounting hardware. This evening I wrapped up painting it and I must say, orange is just color for these things. I have seen them in every color on the net and in person and orange just nails it for some reason. Gloss and satin black look good too but you can't beat factory orange. Or in my case, Chevy engine block orange. I will post up pics once I get it all together and mounted on my car.

After two weeks of digging around in my 77' 280Z, I think I may have finally found the cause of my problem. I brought the car home knowing it had issues, I dropped 2k on this beautiful 280z that refused to start. The owner before me told me he ran it out of gas and let it sit for two years. I wouldn't have bought the car if he didn't show me the receipts for the work he had done on the engine. He spent over 11k getting the engine rebuilt in 2004, the car had 5k miles on the rebuild. I figured it was something simple, like it needed a new fuel filter and some other minimal work to get it started. Over the past two week I put new fuel hoses in, new fuel filter, cleaned the …

Well my car seems to be slipping or bogging, not sure which. when in neutral and i rev the engine it seems fine like its able to pull like it should. well when in gear it doesnt seem to want to go after a certian rpm. right now my tach isnt working and i know im not reving up high at all. prob not past 5k. anyways i was thinking something like clutch or slave cylinder might not be working properly or clutch cylinder. so i decided to swap out the old and put the new ones i got from autozone a while back, you know start with the easy stuff. well i ran into a problem. the push rod on the new clutch cylinder was too short and i didnt want to go to autozone again order the par…

Today I re-installed my turn signal and combo switches. I had sent them off to Dave Irwin to rebuild. Dave turned them around in one day! The Turn Signals have never worked properly, right front did not work at all and left rear was intermittent, as well the right turn indicator light never worked. Well they all work perfectly now! I can't say enough about Dave's work, if you need switches repaired, it is well worth the money to have Dave do it IMO. Next up, rear brakes:D

I made the mistake of bragging to my Dad how good my '77 gas tank refurbish went and wasn't more than $50. Well he brought me a tank from a '55 series 2 Chevrolet truck he's restoring. WOW! That sum beach was rusted. 2 gallons of acid later it looks nice and clean inside. Tomorrow I'll seal it with Red-Kote because I'm about to drink at least a 12 pack then burn a Ribeye. Cheers!
