Time to put rubber on my new 15" wheels and get them on the car. I'm thinking of 205 x60x15". In this size there aren't too many performance choices, but the car will be lowered 1" and I don't want any rubbing problems associated with wider tires. I'd even consider scaling down to 195x65 tire. Bridgestone's RE-960AS Pole Position looks pretty good, but I'm wondering what other's can recommend. I'm looking for a good "dry" performance tire that will also work in the rain. No requirement for snow or ice. I want something that rides reasonably and is not noisy on the freeway. I like the look of a directional tread, but this is secondary. Yes, I know, I want it…

i have googled, binged, and asked jeevs, but i cannot find a list of tire sizes that will fit my 280zx. it is a 1980 10th ann. so it has 14 inch rims. i really want the tires to look good with the car so any ideas on what fits without any rubbing or junk would be super!

I'm converting a 280ZX to a convertible with a new LS1 engine. With to much work already done, I'm now disappionted with choices I'm finding for the suspension and brake upgrades. I also don't like the angled trailing arm rear suspension. Has anyone ever converted to the Z rear suspension to a ZX or any other good ideas?

My dad was the original owner on my 1979 280zx. For some reason when he bought it he told the dealer he didn't like the mags and told them to just put stock wheels on it. I currently have 195/70 R14 tires on the car. I'd like to replace both the wheels and tires, but haven't really decided on what size rims to go with. Is there any reason other than personal choice it would be better to go up to a larger size rim?

I'm going to give those of you who haven't purchased the Prothane kit (yet) fair warning. The $99 price on these kits is a smokin' deal. BUT...before you buy it, you need to ask yourself, "Do I have the 20-30 hours needed to actual INSTALL all of this?" The tools? The patience? I've gotten perhaps 30% through the box so far... and find I greatly prefer DRIVING this car to having it up on ramps, me on the ground wrestling with 2 floor jacks, one bottle jack, two pry bars, 1/2" impact gun.... ..and where is all that swearing coming from?

I have a 1981 280zx 2+2 that rides on 195/70-14 tires with the stock 6 spoke wheels, 6 inch wide and 0 offset. My summer tires are 205/55-15 , 7 inch wide and 0 offset Compomotive ML wheels. I want to upgrade the brakes, especially on the front. The stock disc is 10 inches. I know there are options for the 300zx 10 1/4 rotor and larger caliper, then there is also the 12.2 rotor and larger caliper that is even stronger and lighter. I would like to know what is the best brake upgrade that can be made and keep the 14 inch wheels? Many tell me ditch the 14 inch but they look great in the car and I have brand new michelin tires on them. My preference would be to keep the 14 …

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the wheel and tire size used on John Morton's BRE 240z. I just think the amount of side wall and the overall stance just looks so good on that car. I found that VTO retro 4 rims are close look alike to the magnesium racing wheels on the BRE car. Thanks!

Hi guys. I´m located in Colombia, and it´s not easy to find parts for my 280ZX. I have been experiencing problems with the brake master cylinder and the repair kits i have found here. Looking everywhere I found a brand new Tokico 7/8 master cylinder that it fits right, and the seller says that is intended for the ZX, but the cylinder of my S130 is 15/16. The question is, is it posible to use the 7/8 one or not? One more thing, repair kits are universal, I mean, can be use on both Tokico and Nabco cylinders? Thanks in advance. Camilo.

I just picked these up from the original owner who said when he bought his 74 260z new it was a dealer option in CA. He still had his 74 in the garage. Anyway, from the research I’ve done Appliance was started in the 50’s and sold or transitioned to Japan for manufacturing. Mine say Japan on them. Does anyone know what year Datsun started offering these wheels as a dealer option? Luckily I got all 4 center caps too.

So I ordered new shock struts, all 4. They are KYB Gas A Just. Long story short, the rear end sits about 2 inches too high, the ride is very harsh. So I contacted KYB and ask them to research the part number with them telling me I had the correct part. I went back and forth with them saying that something is not right, but there was nothing else they could offer me to help solve the problem. I drover the car around for a few months thinking they may settle, but nothing changed. Has anyone had a similar issue?
