Time to put rubber on my new 15" wheels and get them on the car. I'm thinking of 205 x60x15". In this size there aren't too many performance choices, but the car will be lowered 1" and I don't want any rubbing problems associated with wider tires. I'd even consider scaling down to 195x65 tire. Bridgestone's RE-960AS Pole Position looks pretty good, but I'm wondering what other's can recommend. I'm looking for a good "dry" performance tire that will also work in the rain. No requirement for snow or ice. I want something that rides reasonably and is not noisy on the freeway. I like the look of a directional tread, but this is secondary. Yes, I know, I want it…

Can someone give me an idea where to start with this? DO i pick out the tires first or wheels? based on what i have read in other posts here a good wheel/tire is 205/50R15? Would a bolt pattern 4x100 be the proper one for a 71 240z? I see some that are 110 or 114....not sure about that

Just picked up a 91 300ZX 2+2 in desperate need of new tires. Currently has stock wheel and tire size (225/50/16) which looks pretty wimpy to my eye. I want to fill up the wheel wells more. For the time being I'll stick with the stock 16" wheels, though I'm not really a fan of the look. For those of you that have upsized tires on stock wheels I'm wondering what size you've got and if you have any clearance issues. Thanks!

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had any info on the wheel and tire size used on John Morton's BRE 240z. I just think the amount of side wall and the overall stance just looks so good on that car. I found that VTO retro 4 rims are close look alike to the magnesium racing wheels on the BRE car. Thanks!

So I ordered new shock struts, all 4. They are KYB Gas A Just. Long story short, the rear end sits about 2 inches too high, the ride is very harsh. So I contacted KYB and ask them to research the part number with them telling me I had the correct part. I went back and forth with them saying that something is not right, but there was nothing else they could offer me to help solve the problem. I drover the car around for a few months thinking they may settle, but nothing changed. Has anyone had a similar issue?

I'm going to give those of you who haven't purchased the Prothane kit (yet) fair warning. The $99 price on these kits is a smokin' deal. BUT...before you buy it, you need to ask yourself, "Do I have the 20-30 hours needed to actual INSTALL all of this?" The tools? The patience? I've gotten perhaps 30% through the box so far... and find I greatly prefer DRIVING this car to having it up on ramps, me on the ground wrestling with 2 floor jacks, one bottle jack, two pry bars, 1/2" impact gun.... ..and where is all that swearing coming from?

I took my car in for an inspection today and they failed me. The culprits where passenger front "strut mount" and driver front "tire rod inner". I am trying to figure out if these are things I could fix myself. I have a jack, and jack stands, but in the chilton manual it makes it look like they have the care overhead to work on the struts. I am also confused as to what they mean by "strut mount". As far as the tire rod inner I am super confused on the terminology because when you look for parts there is "tie rod end" "tie rod inner" and "inner tie rod end". Any help would be appreciated. Is this maybe the tie rod they are referring to : https://www.moog-suspens…

i have googled, binged, and asked jeevs, but i cannot find a list of tire sizes that will fit my 280zx. it is a 1980 10th ann. so it has 14 inch rims. i really want the tires to look good with the car so any ideas on what fits without any rubbing or junk would be super!

Well I finally figured out why the rear end on this thing is loose as a goose. It wasn't the rear sway bar links or bushings, (which I replaced), the rear struts (replaced), or even the rear control arm bushings (which I hadn't gotten to yet) The rear crossmember itself is loose, because rust has eaten away much of where the supporting bracket bolts to the body, behind the seats. There's 1/4" of air visible in what should be Gudentite. Aw jeez, what do I do now? Sell it? Pull the entire rear end down and attempt to weld in some plates? It was one of those moments when you spot something you just hadn't noticed before, plainly visible if you had only looked in the r…

The PO installed these chrome rims on my ZX sometime in the 90's. They don't look half bad cleaned up, but I'm wanting something more period correct that isn't the stock rim. I'm considering Enkei92's. I'd like to hear any one else's opinion. Perhaps there's something out there I haven't seen.
