Has anyone tried doing a fiberglass repair on this portion of the center console? mine is in decent shape except the rear inner section of the arm rest. Any ideas? previous threads or videos would be great.

I am planning to have some carpets made. I'd like to find a good heel pad I could use. And am looking for some donor pieces that could be used as reference - condition not that important. Anyone have any original 71 carpet pieces you'd be willing to part with?

I found this carpet and matching jute on eBay. It looked original to me, and I was interested in getting it for the purpose of using it as a pattern for having some custom carpet made because my opinion is that the kits that are available these days are rather lackluster. When I spread it out and took a close look at it, I was surprised. I was expecting it to be loop carpet. However, it seems like it is more of a pile carpet type. To my understanding, one of the most "authentic" carpet kits currently available is this. But, that is loop carpet - it is very different. While from pictures, it may be hard to tell, this carpet definitely isn't co…

It seems over the years we've come to love cup holders in our vehicles. Unfortunately, they were unheard of when our Z cars were built. So I decided to fabricate some. They came out pretty good, so I thought I'd share the details with the group. Mine is a 1973 but I'm pretty sure earlier Z's are the same. I have about $20 in the build. See Pics of finished product and original consol. Material List: (see Material list 1 & 2 photos) Piece of hardboard or paneling 1/8" thick (2) Orings 2-1/4" I.D 1/4" thick (4) pcs of 3/4" x 3/4" x 2" long wood pieces for legs. You could also use round dowel rods if that what you have (2) SS cup holders. …

My speedometer needle always seemed a bit weak in that it moved down/up when you drive over bumps or rough pavement. Is that just how these speedometers are? I have a dash cap on meaning the speedometer can't/won't come out. This is just a general question.

Many years ago, the knob that goes on the seat slider handle in my 260Z broke. I had seen parts on FB from a place called The Unobtanium, and I found they sold their parts on ebay. I decided to get a replacement knob from them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/386245878688 Compared to the aluminum knobs sold by MSA, I figured it was worth the money to get the plastic knob. The new knob is a dull finish compared to the ones installed in the 73 (and in the 74). I think some of the 3D printing artifacts are visible, too. I had to heat it up slightly to slide on. While it may not look original, it's much better than no knob. To me it was worth the money. If…

Hey, I've got a 73 240z and after doing some spelunking it turns out the previous owner had the rear MSA speakerbox setup in the car, and at some point they removed it, and just left the speaker wire in the back. I want to install a pair of speakers in the back, and like the cleaner look of mounting them behind the interior panels with matching mounts on each side, similar to how the original speaker was mounted, but was curious if anyone had any experience on what the sound quality of the speaker behind the panel was like? I can't imagine it's particularly great, but wanted to check. If that doesn't work, I'll probably move forward with fabricating my own speak…

So I am going to start a leather interior trim thread. I bought the pieces from Interior Innovations and thought it might be helpful to document how I went about the install So I've been procrastinating on this a little bit. The factory vinyl laps up onto the luggage panel a little bit, I believe. I thought that would be hard to do with the leather thickness. Also it really needed to be shifted as far forward as possible to line up well with the parking brake and get under the fire wall mat. There was one set of marks for the seat rib. I will cut these nice and close later I put the original console in the car. It won't be the…

The dashboard in my car had some serious cracks along the top but I couldn't pull the trigger to send it off for rework because of the cost. I wanted to try to repair it somehow though, I had to try something! Here's a few pictures of the cracks. Because of the limit on pictures in each post, I'll upload the balance of the pictures and the materials used after this. Bruce

Trying to figure out if anyone has done this. I want to move the new seat belts to the towers if possible. I don't see how or if I can access the underside of the outer strut tower area where the seat belt reels attach on the 77-78 MY. It looks like that is a closed off area. Pic courtesy of CO My wheel arch - don't recall there being a way to reach into the outer section from below
