I just went up in the attic of my garage and realized that I need to take a week of so and reorganize my Z parts. I took these photos and this is just a scratch on the surface of my hoarding. The NOS parts are put away in containers, at least they are somewhat organized. Maybe it is ebay time.......again.

Good news in several ways! I've hooked up with a source that will make the "Plug-N-Play 240Z Alternator Upgrade Adapter" to my specs. And the production version is frankly better in many ways than I had hoped. 1.) It is now the small, weather-resistant and self-contained unit I had originally envisioned. (See pictures below.) 2.) It is made with a factory-style connector, and new brass terminals. The necessary diode is self-contained. 3.) Better yet, the final version is cheaper than I had thought it could be made. The final price is $15.00 each, INCLUDING postage within the US. Contact me for shipping outside the US. A small volume discount is available for quantities…

So I got a 240z and the engine was seized, I took it apart and now I have a 280z engine block/head all parts are in there and it's unseized, can I use all the other parts from my 240z engine like carbs and intake or are they not compatible with the head. Thanks Nick Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Hey gang, I am going to share with you what I've done to rebuild a 240z fuel pump with great success. This is also (for the time being) an inexpensive solution to rebuilding an original Nikki 240-260Z mechanical fuel pump. What I have learned so far is; rebuild kits for our old fuel pumps have not been available in American for some time now. They are available in Australia and maybe Canada but importing them here isn't cost effective. Original NOS 240Z Nikki fuel pumps are extremely expensive, and the aftermarket fuel pumps look like crap. There are electric fuel pumps available cheap but they require wiring and fuel pressure regulators and I think they are unsig…

I've got a '78 280z (4 speed), and I'm afraid that the transmission is on its way out. I was considering replacing it with a 5 speed, but I've heard mixed things on the early and later 5 speeds. What's the difference? -Ben

Hi, I have read through and followed the http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/index.html instructions numerous times for upgrading the distributor to a 280zx on a 240z and have not been able to get my tach to work at all. I have a 3 ohm coil, 280zx distributor and the car is an 11/70 240z (note that the majority of the instructions are for a 280z). I have spliced the blue/white and the green/white wires together from the harness. The thick black/white tach wire is to the postitive side of the coil and the black wire is to the negative. The black wire from the harness is to the distributor box and there is a new wire going from the positive end of the c…

So the interior is mostly different, except with the possibility of the dash? I assume everything under the hood will be the same, what about suspension, brakes and fuel lines/tank. Any input would be great, I am having trouble finding a 2seater parts car but there is a sea fo 2+2's Thanks

Edit: It's on! See the end of this thread! OK, I think I have just about got it nailed. How many of you would be interested in a plug and play wiring adapter for the 280ZX alternator upgrade on a 240Z? This would be a totally self-contained unit that would simply plug into the factory wiring harness in place of the stock voltage regulator. It would come completely wired (with the proper diode), weatherproofed and tested. No modifications to your car's wiring would be needed, so if you ever wanted to revert to stock you'd just unplug the adapter and reinstall the stock regulator. Pictures of the prototype are below. The production version may have a white plastic connect…
