I hope to make this a Sticky (Mike!!) I want to Document every S30 style combo and Turn Signal Switch. I need every one to see what is already posted and add to this Thread if you don't see your style of switches. With any luck, anyone can pick up a switch out of a box of parts and be able to cross reference it here and know exactly what they have. I am now in possesion of over 80+ switches that I would like to start rebuilding for people and customers. Only problem is that there are so many styles that I am not totally sure of what is what. So PLEASE remove 4 screws from the steering column cover, take off the top and bottom covers and......... Take a picture of....…

Yesterday while turning the left signal while driving a friend of mine told me the rear left hand bulb was not lighting. The this is that it does flash in the board and if you swith the emergency switch it also flashes. This leads me to believe the turn signal switch is failing maybe a burned contact. Theres is a video in youtube where someone pulls the T/S switch from the steering column and opens the contacts . I really dont wanna mess anything and look for a faster solution to avoid removing the switch. Ive eliminated all possibilities an think this is the only solution remaining. How should i approach this repair?

I’ve searched the forum and Car Parts Manual looking for the lighting harness grommet that feeds through the engine bay into the wheel well for the head light & side marker lights. Can anyone help with identifying or sourcing these grommets for my build? Appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance….

The gas gauge on my '73 was not responding, other than the needle coming up to "E" when the key is on, no matter how much fuel is in the tank. I finally clipped the two wires together at the sending unit and the gauge jumped right up to "F". I pulled the sending unit (new) and "Surprise, Surprise" (thanks, Gomer)...the little screw that holds the float arm shaft tight to the rheostat contact arm was loose...! I never checked it before it's initial installation and it was a head-scratcher for others as well as myself. Feeling foolish in North Georgia...

I'm working on a 72 240z atm, it has a standard Pertronix ignition and the engine is running well, no problems there. Before I tear the dash out I'm wondering if any of these wires will restore the tach, on the coil are the red and black from the Pertronix and one of the black w/white stripe wire going to the positive side. Three wires left over, 1 black w/white stripe, 1 green w/white stripe and 1 black wire that I thought would be a ground but isn't. I was going to try connecting the loose wires one at a time to see if I could get it working but I've fried Pertronix units before so thought I would ask first. Thanks

My brake light is on and I’ve disconnected the parking brake switch. Based on the service manual the proportioning valve switch must be on but I can’t for the life of me see an electrical connection to it. What am I missing here? It’s the valve on the firewall with the four hard brake lines right? Driving me nuts!

All guages were working before I made the switch to a megasquirt fi system. I found that the tach wire (blue) was shorting the ignition system out when it was attached so to get it turned I just left it off. When the engine is running it will short out the ignition if I attach it and the engine dies. I thought it might be the tach so I pulled the guage and wire plug out of the dash completely and the engine still dies if I try to attach the ble blue wire while it is running so I don't believe that the tach is the fault. Looking at the schematic in the service manual it appears that the blue wire goes to a resistor but I don't know where that may be, anyone know? I h…

Does anyone know of a more detailed wiring diagram for the blower fan and switch? I found this one but it's too basic, there are 6 wires coming from the switch and I need to trace them down. The car previously had A/C and I think the wiring harness has been modified. ColorWiring240Z-1971-USA-Early.pdf

The signals are doing some strange things that make no sense to me, using the old flasher unit, sometimes I can get all four signals to flash by moving the signal stalk left and right. Then the next time I go back to the left the front left signal won't flash or light up, the rear left and right signals always work no matter what, switch back to the right and now the front right signal doesn't work. Then a couple more tries and they all work again until the next time and the front left stops working. No rhyme or reason, I have taken the signal switch apart and cleaned the contacts with a scotch pad, the signal bulbs are working fine, I've switched them around, I've j…

I'm putting together an order from Eastern Beaver for some electrical terminals bits and pieces. Anyone interested in tagging along and putting stuff in on the order? I'll send you your parts once the order arrives on-shore. Domestic shipping should be cheaper than the shipping from Japan. Their shipping isn't fast, but some of the stuff they have is really hard to find elsewhere. https://easternbeaver.com/Main/Main.html Some examples:

There are three of them, one on the distributor, one on the coil and one near the alternator. There is a new alternator coming with an internal regulator, the spark is going to be handled by a Pertronix II unit and the spark plugs are NGK BPR6ES, do I need them? Thanks
