Couldn't believe this when I saw it at the bookstore. A few I've seen before, the obligatory Rocky Auto car and an impressive write-up on Hans Ruth's Z-racecar. Might be available at Kinokuniya for you West Coast dwellers.

Keep an eye open for a 71 240, Road race, school-bus yellow, #44 article.... they came by the house and did a front yard photo shoot before the photographers went back to Japan after the MSA car show here in California. Perhaps in the fall? Like to find a where to purchase the magazine.

Reaaaally, :)
Hey that sounds great! They promised to send a copy but nothing yet. I'd pay you for your trouble if you found one. Japan magazines can be made quite nice compared to thin papered US magazines. Thanks for the heads up we have lots of fun with this Z, and a nice magazine write-up would make a good memory to keep.
So are you over in Japan now?
Honto ni, Domo Arigatogozimashita yo!
Thank you very much,
Craig

Congrats! That's pretty cool! Later on, if you can, post some pics. You are right; the quality of the paper & print in the magazines I have from Japan is second to none. Sounds like they did you proud.

See what we can do if we can find the magazine and scan some pictures. Mean while this was tonights project.... installed the CSA electric water pump that MSA sells. Lighting Vintage Auto mag. won't have these latest photos. LOL. Thanks for the comments.

Man I've got to visit this forum more often.
I was told, at the MJS 2008 event this past May, that my car was in a Japanese magazine. The guy that told me, couldn't remember the name of the magazine. I've been searching since.
By any chance was it in this magazine. I have no idea what size pic .. it might have just a luck shot (ie .. in the background). I've got a blue z31 with VDI doors.

Craig, congratulations!! Your car is worthy of some press! and lightning magazine really has done well by the southern california Datsun enthusiasts.
I understand that the magazines are selling really well in Japan too. Thus we see them coming back often to continue to maintain sales.
Hope to see many of you at the JCCS show in October!

I did not see your car in this issue. There is coverage of West Coast Nationals but all of the cars either featured or pictured are S30s or S130s.

Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to "look". This helps eliminate at least 1 issue.

Okay, I received the magazines from gogriz91 in the mail today. Thanks Pete for your efforts and mentioning this here in the forum. I owe you one dude! So here is my 15 minutes of fame and I'm just glad it was for a Japanese car in a Japanese magazine. Honto ni tsugoi desu yo!
There were lots of good pictures from US Z car owners and even had the MSA show covered in it too. Hope these pictures post good enough to see.
Cheers

yes, I know I look like a goof ball, so you don't have to bring that part up. :stupid:

yea, I was just kidding cause the magazine forgot to change the owners name on their page layout... it shows Hanns Ruth is also owner of our Z too. ha ha ha I have always admired Hanns Z, and would love to trade him too! Thanks again.

Real nice spread! That will be a family keepsake for sure. It's funny how they got the owner's name wrong and it may become even funnier after translating all the text. You need a bigger display case now.

Hi Marty. I need to find my old Kanji & Katakana dictionary out this weekend and spend some hours trying to pick apart some of the text.
The diplay case is Mrs. Chino's. I was explaining in broken Japanese/English why the #44 on the car.... 2 time Nascar champion Terry LaBonte's old car number.
1st case is hers, and the other two are the families.

Craig,
They did a great job on featuring your Z in the magazine.
But since they documented that I'm the owner, I will be coming by to pick up " MY " car. Ha Ha.

By the way. I bought this issue at Kinokuniya last week in Littke Tokyo. Really nice issue, almost all on Hybrid and Racing Z's, the MSA show and featured SoCal collectors.
おめでとう クレイグ
Congrats Craig!
