Alright I dropped the coin on headers and a new exhaust, now I'm looking at air horns and filters. Any comments on the MSA air horns, or am I better off not even buying them? (hundred bucks is a hundred bucks!)
And to the filters, are the K&Ns that much better than the Longflos from Black Dragon?
Thanks in advance for encouraging my shopping!

Unless you've added a cam, done head work, bored out your existing SUs then the stock air box and horns are the best combo (IMHO) that you can find for the price. Just clean it all up and add paint....

I agree with gnoise on the air horns and stock filter box. Now to the air filters. I am running a stock air box from a '72 with a K&N filter. I have used K&N filters for years and they seem to be doing all I can ask. The SUs stay clean and trouble free. Are they better than Longflo I don't have a clue. Summit has decent prices on the K&N's # E-2910 is the part number. Gary

Cam and boring being done this winter. Having too much fun driving it now. She sits in the winter months anyway.

When I was running Rebello's 3.0L w/ 2-ich SUs in my 240 several years ago he recommended using the K&N filter and punching out three to five 1-inch holes on the top of the housing to let in more air. I ran it that way with no problems whatsoever until upgrading to triples and a stroker motor.

I currently have them on my car (exact setup, MSA air horns and k&n assemblies). I like them. I was thinking about changing over to a stock-type sealed box with a cold air filter on the radiator support. but i read somewhere (either here or hybridz) that underhood temps actually aren't THAT high. so i' keeping my set up until i go EFI and turbo. or triples :D
anyway, if you get ANY different air cleaner set up, you pretty much HAVE to get air horns to maintain performance.
but i dig them. and they sound GREAT
