well i got my 71 240z dyno tested today. i am guessing that the car is stock. it got a run of 108 hp at the wheel at 5095 rpms. 136 hp at the flyweel and 111 ft-lb of torque. isnt that kinda crapy? i beat hondas and such easily but it looks like i should get my beat more often.:stupid:

that isn't supprising for a stock L-24 with miles on it . Has the engine ever been rebuilt? Has the head ever been off and had the valves done ? Dont look at the HP figures on the tag in the engine bay , they are gross HP not either of what you measured. They were taken on a dyno with nothing connected to it to sap the HP . No alternater , or fan I think they even removed the water pump. and remember this was a new engine in the best tune. Not reality. So what you have at the flywheel really is not bad.

That doesnt sound so bad. I had a link to a site that showed factory specs for these things. But i cant find it now.

i am getting a 83 turbo motor rebuilt right now. i got the dyno so i would know how much hp i got in the process. i am going for 200 hp. that would allmost double what i have now.LOL

Last month I had my stock '71 on the dyno. It pulled 114 HP at the rear wheels, at 5750. So, that is about what you can expect from a stocker. Another 240Z pulled 112 that same day. Forgot what the torque #'s were.

A few years ago I put my 280ZX on the dyno and got 140rwhp. It was stock internals (160K miles) with a bigger exhaust and air filter. Not much but that is a 2.8L
