Has anyone come up with a simple fix to keep the lap and shoulder belts connected? I have a helluva time with mine, annoying way to start off a drive. I thought about a thick small rubber washer like for faucet repair. Drill the hole out just big enough to squeeze over the little mushroom looking button on the latch. It has a off white washer now but it isn't thick enough to keep those two pieces together. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I am restoring a 10th anniversary zx and to be honest i don't know what i'm doing. i would like to replace the stereo system due to the fact that only one speaker works and the previous owner installed a radio from a different model z that does not fit correctly. i know that the 10th ann. had surround sound but i don't know what size the speakers are and don't know how to tell. can any one tell me what size they are or how to check. and what type/kind/brand of speakers do i need. I also suppose i need a new faceplate also? any ideas of how much money this would cost would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for all the help. jared.

Mine fell. Can someone suggest how to re-attach... I tried using contact cement on another area, and it crinkled the plastic... Not good... I would like to change to fabric to something else. Any suggestions?

Gas Strut Specs.pdfI wanted to pass on some information about heavy duty struts for any ZXR owners looking to replace your weak or worn out hatch struts. I have tried a few different standard struts with less than desirable results due to the weight of the hatch with the whale tail most struts are just not the right capacity rating. I have found that the capacity needs to be a minimum of 70lbs. The original struts (Nissan #99996-R8004) I believe have an 80lb. rating. I have attached a PDF with the specs. I found that work well. Enjoy the ride! Phil

I've have this Heater box I'm trying to reinstall now that I've replace the Water ****. My problem is there are 3 Vacuum valves on the left side of it and I am unsure of what vacuum hoses go to what. I have the FSM-Factory Service Manual and have even printed out the Vacuum lines schematic, but like many others can't make sense of it? The back 2 Vacuum Valves have 2 hose connectors. One on the bottom, which activate the control arms on the other side (and make it operational). The other on the side. Yet I have found no pictures (anywhere online) of what each one of these Vacuum Valves are even called. I have a manual AC and one Vacuum hose coming thru the firewall from t…

The Antenna Motor on my 83' 280zx coupe is noisy. I can't imagine that it was that loud when new. Is there a way to lubricate or tune up the motor that raises and lowers this? thank you

There are dash caps available (on EBay) to cover my cracked 1983 Turbo 280ZX dash or I can purchase a "refurbished" dash for $1800.00, and trade in my old dash. Has anyone had experience with dash caps? They glue on. It just does not sound right to me. Thank you.

I've had a vacuum leak SOMEWHERE under the dash that was causing problems with the HVAC controls. Specifically, when the engine was under load, vacuum would disappear, and the AC would blow out the wrong vents. Other HVAC settings didn't seem to work quite right, AC only worked on the coldest, recycle setting, not on the FRESH setting, and VENT didn't seem to work at all. (This was after my earlier fiasco with the rotary valve in the HVAC control head being mis-aligned, detailed in another thread) Another commenter here suggested checking the ends of the vacuum lines where they attach to the vacuum storage cannister. (Photo 1) They were OK. To CONFIRM the problem…

The firewall pad on my 1981 280ZX has been cleaned by a fire restoration company but still smells musty. I'm looking to replace it but I cannot find it anywhere. It has the normal insulation WITH a heavy rubber backing. Does anyone know if there is a seller that has this kind of material in ROLL STOCK so I can just cut the holes myself and mold it to fit with my heat gun? Also, I saw ZUP's post and photos about floor deadener material that he bought from a Porsche website. Like ZUP, I'm trying to bring my 280ZX back to original stock condition. Does anyone have other recommendations for floor insulation / sound deadener? Looks like there is some very thin tarry …

Well I haven't posted on the ZX side of this site before , so I guess it's time. Man this side of the site is pretty dead-not much love for the s130 I guess. Actually I haven't paid much attention to them either, but I bought my daughter a decent 81zxt, and she loves it. Just today her friends(she's 19) said they thought she was driving a Porsche. She also said she felt COOL in that car. Anyway, the car needs a little of everything, but not a lot of anything. Today was interior day and I decide to tackle the rear vinly covered panels that are tore up on every ZX. I like doing this kind of work, but I am limited to warm weather because it is not indoor work with an attac…
