Other than buying one as a part of a full gasket set, can't seem to find anyone carrying this gasket Part #24, 14004-N4300 The exhaust manifold to down pipe gasket for a 76 280 L28. Happy to make my own I guess, but never shopped for gasket material for this high heat application. Anyone have any recommendation on what to use?

I have been bitten several times now (you'd think I'd learn...) by oxygen sensors that fail in the first few hours of life. I typically buy the AEM 30-4110 kit from Amazon, good price, shows up quick, blah blah. After a few rapid sensor failures, and me telling AEM, and them quickly sending new sensors under warrantee, and me going and buying "real" (more real??) Bosch sensors, I now have some details to report so you can determine if you get similar "bad" sensors.

Since I had to cut off the exhaust to deal with all the rear suspension work, I decided to put together a 3" SS rear section, starting after the existing cat, then going to a 2.5" Stainless Works rear muffler (ran it on my X1/9 K24 swap for a few months). The 3" SS exhaust I put together from a exhaust I had made years ago for my Volvo C30, before I converted it to AWD & had to make it all over again. Forgot to take pic before I cut it up - this is what it was Eyeball the general placement, then cut, & tape together to check clearance off the forward crossmember and lower control pivot & diff casing tack welded, then recheck fit …

I'm having overheating problems if my car sits in a traffic jamb or between heats when I previously did autocross. I've reestablished a fuel return line to replace the deadhead system installed by a PO and did some other minor changes. I don't want to add hood vents. I hesitant to wrap the header and exhaust due to possible overheating the exhaust and trapping moisture but I found a product by Termo Tec. It wraps loosely around the header so it likely will not trap moisture and heat as much as a tight wrap tape. Does anyone have an opinion on this product? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/the-14004#overview

I’ve been slowly rebuilding/restomodding my 280Z. I only have to have exhaust mounted and some tack welds in the rear sway bar. im looking into twice pipes, but would a traditional set up be better for the Rebello? I’m not well versed on exhausts. Any insight would be appreciated. IMG_7616.MOV

Pulled out a long stored 240z couple days ago, to look underneath, noticed the paper tag part number still intact in front side of muffler. It is painted black, so it definitely has been replaced at some time. Curious to opinions concerning saving the Paper tag or let it burn off with heat over time . Basically asking if ever in a judged show, would it hurt or help in “stock” class? David

now i havent put the center console in yet but each time i drive the car, very short trip, i smell of gas. Everything has been redone professionally. New carbs, headers, exhaust etc... How likely is it its all b/c of the center console? I am thinking got to be more to it that just that.

Hi all, I just put a Dynomax SuperTurbo 17733 on my stock 280 and it is noticeably quieter than the (what turned out to be magnaflow) muffler that was sawed off. I took a look under the car (no cat) and I believe the below is a resonator (correct me if I'm wrong). Do these need to be removed when using the SuperTurbo muffler? The car is almost EV quiet after swapping the magnaflow with this.

I finally decided to install headers on my Z, the MSA 6-1's. I had their Performance Exhaust ordered too, but cancelled that after deciding I wanted a resonator, and didn't like the rear muffler u-bolt mount setup. So, going to drive it 10 miles up the freeway open exhaust to a good shop to get finished up. Here's a few pics. Here's what I'm starting with, which all has to come off: Here's the monstrosity to be removed. I've tried to keep this car pretty much stock, but removed the smog pump a few years ago which helped it run better. So now a header, since the exhaust pipes are getting a few pinholes. Figure if I'm doing the exhaust, may as well go …

Greeting ladies and gents just an observation and hope to learn more. I notice my Honda Odyssey van 2014 with 3.5 litters engine release exhaust at tailpipe noticeable less “air” than my Z with 2.8 litters I exasperate a little bit is that the air output from Z’s tailpipe is like leaf blower and the air from odyssey’s like hair drier if you will. The Z’s tailpipe about 2” and odyssey about 2.5” or so What gives? Modern cars has better recirculate and recycle exhausts? regards
