Dropped into the RSL for a quick hello and a can of coke. A couple of the blokes were talking about speed traps. One was saying how the BLOODY COPS had booked him for doing 80 in a 60 zone. BLOODY COPS this and BLOODY COPS that was the tone of the conversation. I asked him if he KNEW he was doing 80 in a 60 zone. He said yes. When I asked how he could possibly blame the BLOODY COPS for his own actions he gave me a dirty look and left. Drivers who KNOWINGLY speed and get booked for it will NEVER get sympathy from me. Such stupidity does NOT show how GOOD a driver is, it only shows how bloody irresponsible he/she is. Irresponsible driving can and does cause death and in…

OK, the more time I spend looking at this great website, posting gooffy questions and replies etc, the more Aussie members seem bob up. So far I think there are 4 of us in Perth (26ounce, Mr.Camoflage, Lee240zPerth and myself). Anyone else? If we know who we are we can all be collectively miserble about: a) the lack of decent Zs for sale withing a 2000km radius of Perth the lack of a spares/workshop for zs c)the fact that our U.S. cousins can pick and choose from the 60,000+ 240s that were imported to their land compared to the 2-3000 that came to Australia. But more to the point, we can share our hard won knowledge on z-survival downunder. If you're an Aussie, sta…

I'm all worked up about this so if i start talking i'll just shoot off my mouth, so i'll paste below an e-mail i recieved tonight. A Media Release today by the Minister for Local Government, Territories and Roads, the HON. JIM LLOYD MP, spells the effective death of the 15 year rule as we know it. This is reproduced below for your information. In essence, from today 7th Feb 2005, only 1988 and older vehicles can be imported under the 15 year rule. This will be gradually increased to 30 years over time. All other vehicles for road use must be imported under SEVS. Anyone who can prove a financial commitment to a 1989 or 1990 vehicle prior to today's announcement will be…

Well after the longest 3 days ever, my Z finally made it across the Nullabor to Perth yesterday. Am I excited? Oooo yeah! The P.O. even replaced one tyre and steam cleaned the engine before it was collected by the transporter - bonus! I eased it into the garage after an extended scenic drive home and stood there for about half an hour just looking at it. Tried to leave the garage about 3 times to go inside but couldn't get out the door - had to keep turning back to look! Here it is:

Hey all, I've recently fallen in love with the targa roof driving around in my mate's nissan NX, and i was wondering - would it be possible or practical to install one in to my '75 260z 2+2?? Would i maybe be able to use roof panels from a 280zx targa?

Check out www.zcarclubq.org.au for details. It is getting a bit late to enter but there are still some spare places available for the Supersprints to be held at Queensland Raceway. So be quick, it will be a great day, plenty of track time. MY '77 complete with FJ20DET engine and a few other tricky bits is entered. Pity that the driver is not as good as the car. See you there?

Split from Time to buy a Z. Advice Taken <HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Advice taken and appreciated Carl - I sometimes struggle with fully understanding the ettiquette on this site but it does not upset me and this (ettiquette) I am sure is best discussed on another thread. Thanks for the additional information with regard to the L28 engine. You are correct in saying that there are many L28's floating around in Zeds in Australia and I would think that old 280ZX vehicles are most likely the source for almost every L28 in an S30 down here - some people wanted the larger capacity engine and others wanted a …

In Melbourne, it's an auto. 1972. Looks nice and straight though. Check out those green carpets!. and its got a sunroof . And that steering wheel really doesnt suit the car at all. Starting at $3500, with a reserve. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2030&item=4531553175&rd=1

Okay.... Australia has been a strong ally of America for years. We appreciate the support in the wake of 9/11 and now the Columbia disaster. We forgive you for the Paul Hogan movies (at least the second and third ones) and we love Koalas. But for god's sake, can someone take care of the frigging Wiggles? They are taking over my house!! My three year old won't stop watching them! What is the point of having a 51-inch High-DEF TV if all we can watch in my house is the frigging WIGGLES!!! Who ARE these guys and why are you exporting them to us? Please, feed them to the crocs or something, mates.

Can someone with a 240Z in Australia (NSW would be even better) please check their rego papers and tell me what the 'Tare Weight' is listed as. I think mine might be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time the RTA stuffed something up though. After coming off my license suspension they gave me a Gold license which you need a clean record for. :stupid: Please check rego papers though, I can't use guesses. Mine is listed as 1620 which looks very wrong. Also, what's the correct definition of 'Tare weight'? Is it car + full tank + driver or just car + full tank. Cheers
