Hi Guys and Gals, Quick History: I have a white 73 that Ive owned for about 13 years. I bought the car right after high school (1996) rebuilt the motor, had the car stolen in Sept '97 right before I entered the US Coast Guard, retrieved the car in July '98, rebuilt the engine (again), and now the only mechanical gremlin I can't figure out is the brakes. The brakes have been a constant frustration for me for the past 10 years!!!!! (OK, there was some down time in there, but still ) I have the brake setup that is used on the 260z and I think on the 280z??? This has the valve with the brake light incorperated in it (directly after the Master cylinder), and the porportio…

I got home from taking 3 final exams today and shortly thereafter there was a knock on the door. My neighbor Ben said "your car's been broken into. mine too" So here's what I found. But looking on the bright side, nothing was taken. Not my stereo, not my change, not even my bag of chips. And at least it's a nice day and the wind isn't blowing rain in there. I already have a lead on a window that I can hopefully pick up tomorrow. This has never happened to me before. Well, when I was 8 my dads 928 was broken into and my Sega Game Gear was stolen, but it wasn't my car. (Although I wish it was, in addition to the Z).

I am in the middle of a very large and seeming infinitly costing 280Z restomod. I was given a 280Z from my fathers best friend (kind of like another father to me) and wanted me to apreciate it since he loved the car so much. I am media blasting and replacing everything (pretty much) so that it can become my daily driver. LS1, T56, Q45 rear diff.... If I was going to use this car all the time, there was only 1 shop that could work on an original datsun in Memphis and everyone can work on an LS1. That is how this project is continually growing. I will love to drive and take car of the car when and if it ever gets finished. Looking for advice and just to learn from m…

Hi, everyone! I thought I would introduce myself. I just acquired my father-in-law's all original '73 240Z, 62,000 miles. HLS30-143430. He bought it new and drove it until 1980. It's been sitting in his garage ever since. He recently sold his house and is moving into an assisted living home, so the car is now in my garage! I plan on getting it running again with the help from your excellent website. I'm hoping it doesn't need too much to get it going. It was parked with no issues...he just quit using it. It has NO rust, the body is in excellent shape with just a small dent in the driver's door. the interior is in excellent condition. I assume I'll need to rebuild the ca…

Hey everyone, My name is JJ and I'm looking at picking up a z to get into shape over the summer. Ive always been interested in lots of different cars but for some reason am in love with all things Nissan. Ive checked out a couple z's and all are either over priced or need too much. Then I found one that isn't too horribly priced but still needs a few things. its a 72, automatic. Heres the ad for it. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/1184550915.html What the pictures don't show(or at least barely do) is that dented up lf fender. it could be repairable but what kind of difficulty would I come into when trying to find a replacement? the dash is long gone but the i…

Sat stored for 30 years, came with a ton of extra parts.Apparently they were notorious for rust, the most this has is some surface rust and a few small holes. Not exactly original, rear left fender needs to be replaced as someone tried to add a flare.Dash is out of a 260z where the original went Im not sure. If anyone is local to port colborne/niagara ontario give me a shout,Ive got the tools,space(5000sq ft) and time, along with some extra parts. Looking for some 4 bolt rims similar to american racing AR767 (I guess in simple terms nascar/dirt track rims) And any other things I might be able to get my hands on. Quite possibly the rear end out of an automatic, but I doubt it…

New to the site and amazed actually because I never would have guessed that such a large community of Z lovers would exist on the internet. Back in 1987 (I was 17 years old) I bought a '73 240Z for $1,000 from a guy in St. Louis. I had the Z for a couple of years and absolutely fell in love with that car. Unfortunately I made a mistake and got rid of the car. Joined the military, got married, had kids....always miss that car. I have told my wife a million times that I WILL own one again before I die. Two days ago my wife told me that she found my birthday present (I told her I wanted a light bar for the front of my motorcycle because I am getting old and night driving…
