I own what may have been the final Scarab before the company failed. It is a 1980 ZX started by Brian Morrow but finished after he sold his company. I have all of the ordering paperwork with Brian's signature and letters to and from him. It was started in late 1981 and delivered early 1983. A picture of this car is in Hot Rod magazine February 1983 pg 68 . Needs paint job and slight body work due to some minor rust issues. Does anyone know how to go about finding interested buyers for this car??

I am the owner of a '72 Z-car with a Scarab V8 conversion. It has been a very interesting car with a rather unique personality. The car itself has an interesting history, with myself being the third owner since its conversion. The car started out in stock form, somewhere in California. The original owner, a good friend of mine, was stationed at Fort Ord and purchased the car new sometime during '72. The car and its first owner made it back to New York in late '76. The car was then continuously driven by the second owner, the younger brother of the original owner. Anyway, to make a long story even longer, There was a third brother who didn't own the Z, but instead owned …

Thought I'd post just a few photos, including the dozen Scarabs in attendance, the largest gathering in history. There were never more than six cars at Scarab Engineering when they were in business. This was special as we reunited Brian Morrow with the very first Scarab he ever produced in late 1973. Brian was unaware the car still existed and after 43 years he saw it for the first time. It's owner had it for 34 of those years and kept it in outstanding condition. Scarabs took four top awards at the 2019 ZCON. I debuted the Scarab book I have been working on for well over two years, after finding and interviewing all the original players. The book is titled, "Resurrecting…

Hi Folks, I am having a heck of a time trying to find out info on how to make a '77 280z tach work in a 1972 240z Scarab convert. The vehicle has a 327 Chevy motor with an Accel 71000 series Magnetic Breakerless (Hall effect) distributor and an Accel Super Coil, model 140001, no HEI module, and a large gap in the wiring harness where the old tach hooked up. I still have the old tach, but I don't think it is good for anything but the housing. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I`m really looking forward to receive the Scarab in mid oktober, and thanks to David who make this deal happend. Regards from a happy new Scarab owner Rolf Arne

For sale my factory built Scarab Z # 155. This is a true factory car -- one of only 17 known to exist. I have owned this car since 1996. The body and interior was done in 1997. The engine rebuilt in 2003 and the suspension in 2008. This car was built by Scarab in 1979 on a 1972 donor Z. The car has been in northern California all its life and has a good body. Floors are good. There is minor rust on the driver's door and on the rear tailgate finisher (a replacement panel is readily available) This Scarab has a 350 cu.in Chevy "Bow tie" block with angle plug heads, BRE aluminum roller tipped rockers, Edelbrock torker intake with Edelbrock carb. The transmission is a Borg-Wa…

Hello all this is my first post on classiczcars. I wanted to share with all of you the amazing news that we have found an original Scarab. It's car number #157. This car has an amazing amount of history and provenance to it. I have tried to post pics several times but have had no luck. I did post some on hybridz. I have included a link at the bottom of the post for any of you that are interested. We are planning a big time restoration for the car, it deserves it! I know we will have lots of questions throughout the restoration. If any of you that have gone through the restoration and have any input that can help, please let us know. Here is the link to the car over at hy…
