The closer I get to completion on my 73 total restorations the more nuisance problem I encounter. This time it's brakes. Spent the last few hours reviewing related post and picked up a few tips but not my exact problem. I Replaced all hard lines and hoses, reused the master cylinder, proportioning valve, master vac, and brake warning switch. Assembled everything and blead the brakes. I had flow at each wheel bleeder. However, after bleeding I pumped the brakes a few times and they became hydraulicly locked (solid pedal). I figured the return port on the MC may have become plugged. Rather than fool around with it, I just ordered a new one. Problem solved. Rebled the…

Hi, I really like the looks of Panasport wheels and I found a set on Craigs list but I'm not sure if its wise to purchase used aluminum wheels. Does anyone have any input? I would need to purchase new tires since my existing wheels are 15 inch. They will also need some cleaning up and new clear coat. https://limaohio.craigslist.org/wto/d/findlay-panasport-formula/7615888664.html Jeff

I am a forum noob that, after much online searching with no luck, is hoping that the deep and broad experiences available here may have some advice if not answers. I am recent owner of a new (to me) 260Z (1/74 build date) with stock 4x114.3mm wheel hubs. I am on a quest to find a set (4 or 5) of 15x7 slotted mag wheels that look like the attached photo. (16x7 *may* also work.) These were common for these cars at the time, though then typically with a 14-in. diameter. Motorsports in Orange, CA, has a listing for them but no information about IF much less WHEN they may become available. www.thezstore.com/product/4707/msa-flashback-slotted-15x7-wheel-kit-70-85-z-zx Any a…

So, I've got a question about wheel hubs. I was putting the new rotors on my freshly cleaned up hubs. Once they were all together I noticed that the two hubs were not the same. I've owned this car since 1995. The previous owner was the first owner (bought it brand new in '76). I have never replaced the wheel hubs. I don't think he did either. However, the hubs are different, see attached pictures. The question: Do these differences actually matter?

Searching has not brought me any definitive answers. It appears the front and rear hubs are not uniform size? I'm asking for two reasons - 1) because I'm converting the rear brakes to disc, and the Milkfab kit uses 300ZX Turbo rotors which have a 67mm bore. 2) I bought Konig Rewind 15x7 4x114.3, 73.1 bore 0 offset - So now I'm assuming I will need hub centric spacers for the rear wheels, but not for the fronts? Can anyone advise?

I admit this is a dumb question, but I'm in CA, and my elderly mother's 1973 240Z is in Loveland, CO. I'm going there Thursday to help sort though her stuff in preparation for moving her to an assisted living facility. The car has been sitting in her garage for 20 years and the tires are nearly flat. I'll need to remove the wheels in order to take them to a gas station and pump up the tires so the car can roll (it doesn't run). My question is: what size socket should I take with me to CO for the lug nuts? The wheels are the original slotted "mags." Once I get there, I'll take photos and place a "For Sale" ad on this site. It should make a nice restoration project …

Is this supposed to be seated all the way against the bearing? I have trouble getting the hub all the way on the spindle with the seal fully seated against the bearing. Not sure why but the hub just seems to stop sliding up the spindle. Any tricks? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys, can you recommend a legit US based dealer I can order these wheels from? Also I'm still debating going with either 15x8 wheels with 225-50ZR 15" or 16x8 with 225-45ZR 16" Currently have 16x7 Konig Rewind with 215-55ZR 16" wheels with BC Racing coilovers.

I replaced those squiggily brake lines behind the brake drum back plate with the nice new stainless steel kind. One of them fit correctly; the other-see picture-appears to need an additional fitting. Does anyone have any ideas? Loyal Baker 72 240Z

I had to drop both rear struts yesterday to install my insulator spacers (car was riding a tad low in the back because the replacement spacers wire from a 240z and are shorter.). You have to remove the hand brake cable clevis pins to get the strut to drop enough to get the top of the struts past the fender lip. There is a approximate 2” rubber boot that goes over the cable (see pic), near that clevis pin. Has anyone found a replacement source for these or know of one that works from a different vehicle. I’d like to replace mine if possible. In the car parts manual it’s #26 in the graphic and they call it a “spring return”, but that the spring covered by the boo…

1972 with all new brakes . Master cylinder is a NABCO , or whatever is being sold by Nissan - but made in Japan . I am losing fluid but in a strange way . After a long period of driving I check the MC and the front reservoir is low while the rear is full to the top . I have brake fluid oozing out somewhere from the rear reservoir . Not sure if it is somehow getting pressurized and coming out the bottom or what . I’ll have wetness around the band clamp and around the MC body . The band clamps are tight . This is driving me nuts . I’ve never read of this situation . The front brakes are upgrade with the S12 calipers .
