I own several early Z cars, but my most prized is my early S30 Japanese model Fairlady Z (2 liter) pre-240Z. It's fitted with an original real g-nose. I was told it was raced in Japan before being converted to left hand drive and shipped to the US (all the old places on the firewall are covered over from conversion). It has a rollbar, and factory race bucket seats...super light! . One "rear deck" behind the seat storage bin, one plastic behind the seat storage box. Original 2 liter engine. It has the early rear deck with vents. It was originally Grand Prix Red, which I've read the ZG's only came in 3 colors, that being one of them. The tag under the hood says S30-01036, …

Hi, In Japan,a very interesting book was issued for all the S30 fans recently. Mr.Uemura was an engineer of Nissan ,he did great job especially chassis and compornets layout , not only that, he also was a chief of the test crew of 240Z in the US and Canada Oct -Dec 1969. So many new fucts we see in the book!! I have to tell you soon. Kats

As I mentioned on page 22 of JDM'junkies build thread, I have seen differences with the passenger footrest, which HS30-H says was standard equipment on 'DELUXE' models in Japan, and an extra-cost showroom order option on 'STANDARD' models , within that thread. This is by no means comprehensive, so, please correct, add info. Lets start with a S30 footrest Kats says (in the above thread) is from Fairlady Z from the beginning (Oct 1969 ) to 1973 or later . I think the footest we see on the S30, originates from a preceeding model, the SP311/SR311, as my understanding it was an option from 1967 on, part number 74340-25500. I have found the chart KATS graciously uploaded in aug of 2019 here regarding the break down of Japanese models 240z, ZL, and ZG. I'm not completely clear on the numbers represented and lines drawn showing the 3 models. Could use some help with deciphering this chart and accompanying paragraph, describing chart as well. Are there truly no "hard" numbers to go by? At first glance it appears the 240ZL group of cars is smaller then the 432 group. Surely this isn't true or is it something to discuss? Be Gentle if I'm off my rocker...... I have searched and can't truly find detailed info.

My Father In Law passed away and he has some vehicles. One that he has is a 1972 Blue Fairlady Z with original 40,511 miles on it. The vehicle has never been converted to US emissions and does not even have a US vin # attached to it. The body and interior are in excellent condition but the engine has not been turned in quite a while. It appears that this vehicle was oringally owned by a US servicemen as it has a US Armed Forces sticker in the upper center of windshiled dated 1974. The left side window still has a sticker on it from Japan. Everything on the vehicle is in japanese. Where is a great place to put this vehicle up for sale as it may be a one of a kind.

Real deal Fairlady vin S30-01036 with original factory G nose, original owner had converted a few years later to LHD before shipping back to states, project, selling with my '71 240Z that can either be restored or used for donor. Both cars sold with Bill of Sale only. Pretty easy to get titles but I don't have time to fool with since we're moving. Full ad in classifieds on here with more details and pics. I am new to this forum and under qualified to have an educated conversation with a Z enthusiast. Despite being undeserving of a Fairlady, I do own one and am in the process of trying to get it back on the road. I purchased the car from my uncle while I was in high school in 1997. I had the rust replaced and body work completed as well as the engine rebuilt before leaving it my parents garage for nearly 20yrs. I now have it in my garage and am looking to bring it back to life. On my 72 Fairlady the PO had installed a XR700 electronic ignition combined with a Fireball PS200 coil. Works well however the tachometer was not working (it was not wired in). Wanted to share my solution and check if anyone knows if there might be issues with what I have done. There is a lot of differing advise out there on this. But this is what I believe; I have a tachometer that uses an induction coil to detect the revs. I think referred to as a 3 wire tach. I am assuming it works by detecting the current fluctuations every time the coil fires to determine the RPM. I figure that the coil and the tacho have to be wired in series. First diagram is…

Hello, I currently have a 1972 Fairlady Z that have entertained the idea of selling it. The car has been in dry storage since the early 80's only having 29,000 kilometers on the car, I see the early Z market all over the map and I was looking for a honest answer on its value. I know it's no 432 but I believe it has to be one of the most original Fairlady Z's out there the gas tank , carbs and brake's need attention from sitting has great oil pressure alternator charges it runs great considering how long it really has seen the road. Looking for some assistance on identifying this part under the hood of my 1977 280z. It mounts on the same bracket as the voltage regulator on the driver side wheel well.. The original fault was my door buzzer stayed on constant. Then heard a strange hum under the hood. Tracked it down to this guy. Tapped lightly with a hammer and it fixed it for short period of time. It continues to be an issue so need to replace. No cue what this is?!?!?! LOL! Thanks for any help!!! Jeff
