Hello from AustraliaROFL This is my VG30det 260z , hope you like it. Let me know what you think? now lowered! ITS TOGETHER AND STARTS AGAIN! Sounds tuff with the new exhaust manifolds, and exhaust (3.5 inch half the way then 3 inch ) ]these are shots taken under the car at the rear, you can see the bottom of the fuel tank, the fuel pumps ect. You can see the bushes on the srung steel bar holding the diff are aluminum, the diff twisting under take off would mash the bushes, so turning up new ones to make it solid was the only way to beat the problem.

Funny enough, as I'm getting ready to write this up for you guys, I see some one has one on doing power windows in a (240K). I'm going to do a full spread (with pictures and step by step stuff) on power windows in a 240Z. "Why" you ask? 1) Cause when I'm buckled up (seatbelt) into my 70' 240Z, There is NOOO reaching the passenger side window without almost causing an accident. 2) When it's hot outside and you don't have the luxury of A.C, It'll be nice to hit the switch and roll down the window. 3) It'll get me browny points with the Wife, cause she too has trouble getting to the handle when she is buckled in. (if she's happy, …

I have made only one set of 240Z LED tail lights for the sole purpose of selling on this site only. If you have seen my "posi burn out" video and noticed them there or even seen my gallery, you'll know what I'm talking about. Here's what the lucky winner will get... One set of 240Z tail lights (Left & Right) They have been torn apart, cleaned, polished, refitted with Super Brite L.E.D.'s (14,000 mcd) and wired to run the same as most tail lights are (parking lights on upper half and brake lights are both upper and lower sections. I polished the plastic as best as I could. I removed the inner reflective plates and reworked one of them for eac…

hey guys, i was wondering if someone could explain the differences between these two motors. as i understand, the L28 comes in 75-78ish 280zs, and the L28et comes in the 79-83ish 280zx turbos? they are both straight 6's, but what is different between them other than the turbo (or lack of)? i understand that the L28et has about 31 more HP than the L28? is this correct? My application is im trying to figure out what i want to do with the engine in my 280z. ive been told by people on here that putting a turbo on a L28 is a little more than worthless, and that i should just swap in a L28et...if i swapped in a L28et, i would rebuild it first...and if im going to rebuild the L2…

Hi all, I am going into producing RB conversion parts and will be making them available for other RB swappers. This is to fit any RB engines into 240Z/260Z or 280Z (not ZX, but maybe the sump could be used) i.e. RB26DETT, RB25DET, RB20DET or their N/A versions. This is definite; I am getting a spare RB26DETT block at the end of the week to commence production of the sumps. 1st I am making modified oil sumps and oil pick up (sump needs to clear the steering rack and also clear the oil pick upas well), then engine mounts and gearbox mounts will follow soon afterwards. These parts will be exactly the same as the ones that I used for my own RB26DETT conversion, which you can…

Completed my installation of a fuse block to replace the ageing fusible links. Used the same Mini ANL block that Mike W used in his 260, except purchased the 4 fused output block. One 80A ANL for the alternator feed back, and three 50A for the other circuits were the fuses I used. This model has 2 inputs so I will eventually run another cable from the unused port to a inexpensive 2 output small fuse block without the digital bling for the FI links. The display has 4 led's for the fuse status, and the system volts / current. The display cycles between volts & amps about every 10 seconds and shuts itself off in 90 seconds if there is no circui…

Hello all. I have been looking around for a Z car for about 2 years now to purchase. I have finally found one that I am 99% positive that I am going to end up purchasing. It is a 1971 240z. I was thinking about dropping in an LS1 into this beast, but since the engine and tranny have been rebuilt, I dont really have a good reason too. Plus I was only thinking about doing that if I got a newer 240z, or a 280 n/a. But instead I got an older 240z that is still all stock, in great condition so I am going to pretty much leave it this way. Though I would like to get a little more power out of it. I was thinking about getting a triple carb. I was looking at getting a DCOE…

I've been talking to a guy who makes carbon fiber and fiberglass - whatever you want basicly. I'm gonna have him make the center console in carbon to start with. But I don't think it's gonna stop there. When he mentioned hoods he's made that weigh 1.5 Kilograms, how could I not be tempted? Anyway - the parts I have in mind (maybe) getting are these: Hood Doors Rear hatch Front fenders Wishbones (either Carbon or Chrome Moly) Front/rear spoiler + side skirts Do you have any suggestions/interests on/in other parts? Once the molds have been made it wouldn't be entirely impossible to make some more for you guys. Not sure of pricing yet - but probably a…

I am soon to be at the stage where I turn the Z upside down and coat the underside of the floor with Bedliner, rubberized undercoating, or something similar. What areas did those of you who have been here before leave uncoated-what areas need to be left clear mounting-if any? My wondering is due to this synergy: when conventionally undercoarting, the mounting surface are protected from buildup by what ever is mounted to them/undercoating with no suspension (or protection of the mounting areas thereof) will add 1/16"-1/4" to the suspension tollerances. It may be no issue, but I would rather ask and look stupid, than apply it and have to spend a day removing permanent ma…

Well, last night I slid the engine and 5 spd trans (from my 85 635) into the Z. It almosts fits without alterations. The hood lies on the distributor and the intake plenum, so I need to figure out how to get the front down a couple of inches as it sits or move it all back 2 or 3 inches so it will drop down an inch or so. I see options right now of trying to lower the Z steering rack, exploring cutting into the oil pan to remove a few inches across the lower front, or cutting into the firewall. There may be other solutions such as changing the hood, but those are the most obvious. Lowering the rack poses a small problem with the steering shaft universal joint and the …
